:A DOUBLE-BARRELLED PERCUSSION CAPE RIFLE BY BLANCH & SON, LONDON, mid-19th century, with 29 7/8in. rebrowned twist sighted barrels signed 'BLANCH & SON. LONDON' on the rib, the right barrel 13-bore and smoothbore, the left barrel 20-bore and rifled with two deep grooves for a belted ball / winged bullet, patent breeches engraved with scrollwork and inlaid with two gold lines on the rib and each with pierced platinum plug, scroll engraved tang, signed locks retaining traces of original faded case-hardened finish and each engraved with scrollwork and game birds, figured walnut half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end, grip-safety, scroll engraved iron mounts, silver escutcheon, and original brass-mounted ramrod, London proof marks.
:A DOUBLE-BARRELLED PERCUSSION CAPE RIFLE BY JOSEPH BOURNE, LONDON, serial no. 3520, mid-19th century, with 30in. rebrowned twist barrels with broad matt rib signed 'JOSEPH BOURNE MAKER LONDON NO. 3520' and marked from '1' to '20' in one inch increments, the right barrel 14-bore and smoothbore, the left barrel 40-bore and rifled with two deep grooves for a belted ball / winged bullet, rear express sight of six folding and one standing leaf each with platinum-inlaid centre line, scroll engraved patent breeches each with platinum plug, scroll engraved tang and signed locks, well figured walnut half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end, engraved iron mounts including hinged patchbox-cover decorated with a running stag, silver escutcheon, and later brass-mounted ramrod, London proof marks.

The 23rd Company of the Garrison Artillery comprised 93 men with 6 muzzle loading 7lb guns.Together with photocopies of Troops engaged in the Boer War. A First World War Pair, awarded to 3945 PTE.P.H.ROGERS. LINC.R., comprising the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. **The medal recipients were brothers-in-law.
