Three Royal Doulton figurines, "Patricia", The Paisley Shawl" M26 and "Bridesmaid" H30. CONDITION REPORT: “Paisley Shawl” has an old hairline crack running for approximately 5 cm across the upper portion of the cape and a further smaller hairline is visible to the front left hand side of the cape for approximately 1 cm. “Bridesmaid” has a small hairline crack running from the centre hole across the bottom edge of the base for approximately 1 cm. “Patricia” is in good order with no issues.

SCHARNHORST: A partially printed oblong 8vo card issued by the KM Scharnhorst crew association in memory of the bravery of the crew, individually signed by fifteen survivors of the sinking of the Scharnhorst following the Battle of the North Cape on 26th December 1943, comprising Helmut Backhaus, Horst Zaubitzer, Gunther Bohle, Max Schafer, Helmut Feifer, Franz Scherer, Wilhelm Godde, Wilhelm Alsen, Franz Laiss, Gunther Strater, Gerhard Lobin, Franz Marko, Ernst Reimann, Rolf Zanger and Nikolaus Wiebusch. All have signed in blue or black inks with their names alone within custom printed boxes and to the left is a table identifying the signatories and their ranks etc. A couple of extremely minor corner creases, otherwise VG
COLLIER GEORGE: (1774-1824) British Naval Captain who served in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, and the War of 1812. L.S., George R. Collier, two pages, folio, on board HMS Tartar at Sierra Leone, 11th February 1821, to Lieutenant Thomas Evans of HMS Snapper. Collier sends some instructions to Evans, in part, 'So soon as His Majesty's Brig under your command is ready for sea you will communicate with the Committee of Merchants of the Gambia…and take an early opportunity…of proceeding to the Gambia. You will be cautious in rounding Cape St Marys and obtain a Pilot from Bird Island before you enter the River. You will complete your water and fuel there, and such other wants as you may stand in need of observing to procure Fresh Beef as frequently as you can…When the service you are upon shall be either completed or sufficiently advanced, you are to return to this anchorage, and you are at liberty to touch off the Senegal…' With blank integral leaf. Together with a small selection of A.Ls.S. etc., by various other naval and military leaders including 1st Viscount Keith (1746-1823, British Admiral of the Napoleonic Wars) A.L.S., Keith, two pages, 4to, Cavendish Square, 9th February 1797, to a gentleman, regarding a misunderstanding (a little crudely inlaid and with some extensive neat splits at the central folds), David Beatty (1871-1936, British Admiral) vintage signed 4 x 6 photograph of Beatty in a full length pose, in uniform. Signed ('Beatty A of F') in dark fountain pen ink to a clear area at the base of the image. Accompanied by a brief A.L.S., Beatty, one page, 4to, Regent's Park, n.d. ('Sunday'), to a gentleman, sending the signed photograph; Robert Baden Powell (1857-1941) British Lieutenant General, founder of the Scout movement. T.L.S., R Baden Powell, one page, small 4to, Hyde Park Corner, 12th November 1901, to S. Langston Faddy, stating, in part, 'Your letter enquiring about your brother should have been sent to the Chief Staff Officer, South African Constabulary, Johannesburg….If your brother's name did not appear in the casualty lists published at the time of the engagement you may feel assured that he is well'. Neatly trimmed, lightly mounted and with extensive, neat splits at the folds, slightly affecting the text and signature (only FR), and a bold dark fountain pen ink signature ('R S S Baden Powell') and date, 6th November 1901, in his hand, on an oblong 12mo piece with a printed address at the head, etc. FR to generally G to about VG, 7
BEATLES THE: A hardback edition of In His Own Write by John Lennon, published by Jonathan Cape, London, June 1964 (reprint). Signed and inscribed ('Love to Helen from John Lennon xxx') by Lennon in bold blue ink to the front pastedown and signed ('Ringo Starr') by Ringo Starr in bold black ink with his name alone to the front free endpaper. Not signed by Paul McCartney or George Harrison. Lennon's signature appears beneath an ink presentation inscription to the previous owner, 1964. Some very light, extremely minor age wear, VG Provenance: The present lot is accompanied by a typed statement signed by John Rushing stating, in part, 'On the 9th November 1964 I was a police sergeant in Sheffield and given the duty of getting The Beatles, after their journey from Manchester, into the Sheffield City Hall…..That morning I bought a copy of John Lennon's illustrated poems for my ten year old daughter Helen's birthday. With two other plain clothed officers I met The Beatles and ushered them through the…..rear doors of the City Hall. I sat with them back-stage as they ate a cold chicken meal before their concert and John Lennon and Ringo Starr kindly signed the poetry book'. The Beatles performed in concert at the City Hall, Sheffield, on 9th November 1964 as part of their Autumn UK Tour.
Chad Valley (England) Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs cloth dolls, c.1930's, all with pressed felt faces and painted features: Snow White, height 39cm, wearing dress with yellow skirt and green/pink top with matching cape, white undergarments and yellow felt shoes with pink ribbons and pink ribbon to hair (E condition, small brown mark to arm); seven dwarfs, height approx. 25cm, in cloth and felt outfits. All with original paper tags, and five with original price labels, slight rubbing to Sleepy's cheek otherwise in E unplayed with condition. A fantastic set. Together with a Snow White book and toothbrush holder.

Badge. 72nd Highlanders Crimean War Period, Attributed Officer’s cased silver plaid brooch. A superb and rare example worn by Lieutenant The Honourable A. T. Fitzmaurice. Made by Lambert & Rawlings, Jewellers 12, Coventry Street, of the pattern introduced in 1852. Silver quoit engraved with Ducal Crown resting on “Hindoostan” scroll, thistle wreath,; to the base another scroll inscribed “Cape of Good Hope” with “ATF” monogram beneath. The centre set with a facetted glass foiled citrine, this can be removed for wear in undress. Retaining stout double pin fixing to reverse. Housed in its original fitted red leather case with domed lid. VGC Lieutenant The Honourable A. T. Fitzmaurice born 23rd Jan 1838 at Taplow, commissioned Ensign 1853 and advanced to Lieutenant the following year. Served in Eastern campaign in 1855 including expedition to Ketch, Siege of Sevastopol and attack of 18th June. Received Crimea Medal with clasp Sevastopol. Died 19th June 1894 aged 60.
2nd Bn West Yorkshire Regiment Queen’s South Africa Medal, Six Clasps. Awarded to “2566 PTE E. WRIGHTON WT: YORK REGT” clasps “Laind’s Nek, Transvaal, Relief of Ladysmith, Orange Free State, Tugela Heights, Cape Colony”. Ghost dates to the reverse, clasps attached correctly, sight edge knocks. Private Wrighton is shown on the QSA Medal Roll as entitled to Five clasps, not the clasp Cape Colony. He was also awarded the King’s South Africa Medal.

A 19th-century mahogany domestic medicine chest, Springweiler & Co., London, the double doors and upper compartment containing 15 (of 16) glass bottles, all but one with printed contents labels and most with additional printed label of chemist and druggist J.H. Reeler, Cape Town, the two drawers containing brass scales, 12 dram weights, and 3 small hallmarked English spoons, inner rim of lower drawer stamped with maker's name, 22 x 19 x 11cm (closed), small inset brass carrying handle and working key and lock (1)
A lady's early to mid Victorian pale gold silk satin heavily embroidered and beaded evening cape with ribbon trim and J.A.'s Shoolbred & Co of Tottenham House label to interior, a green leather backed fur sporran, a pale yellow silk and lace bonnet, further Victorian lace and linen, a lambswool collar and three wraps to include a fox fur wrap bearing Dickens Jones Ltd of London furriers label. CONDITION REPORT Interior lining and seams of cape need attention but exterior is free from tears/holes etc.
A remarkable autograph book consigned by the daughter of O.V. Lucas, former captain of the RMS Aquitania and RMS Queen Elizabeth. Lucas was captain of the ships in the 50s and early 60s and during this time, the many autographs he managed to collect include: Aristocracy - Edward Duke of Windsor & Wallis Windsor, Lord Cornwallis & Esme Cornwallis Military & Political figures - Montgomery of Alamein, Fraser of North Cape (Admiral of the Fleet), Dwight Eisenhower Hollywood Stars - Danny Kaye, Alec Guinness, Gregory Peck, David Niven, Van Johnson, Burt Lancaster, Jimmy Stewart, Elizabeth Taylor, Bette Davis, Jackie Cooper, Angela Lansbury, Anna Neagle, Deborah Kerr, Tyrone Power. Also Christian Dior, Frederick Lonsdale, Irving Berlin, Somerset Maugham, Sir Oswald Birley (renowned artist with sketch) and many others. Many of the autographs are signed "To Margaret" as Lucas collected them for his daughter. Every time he returned from a trip, he had more autographs for her. CONDITION REPORT Book contains 42 autographed pages which have been signed on both sides, a further two pages signed only on one side and a few vacant pages. Some pages have been signed more than once. App. 90 signatures in total. Other signatures include; David Cohen, Anne Blythe, Van Johnson, Myrna Loy, David Farrar, Gary Merril, Binnie Barnes, Dolores Gray, Myrna Hess, The Hedley Ward Trio, Peter Cavanagh, Clifton Webb, Donald O'Connor, Jean E Day etc.

A FINE QUALITY 19TH CENTURY JAPANESE IVORY OKIMONO OF A BIRD CATCHER, on a naturalistically shaped wood base, the man standing in floral engraved robes and bearing on his back an unusual animal fur cape, his hands holding out before him a lattice basket cage, 6.25ins high overall, the ivory itself 5.7ins high.
