A late 19th century 'ship in a bottle' of the armored schooner HMS Lion:, standing and running rigged with white ensign, forward deck cannon and black hull, on a waterline base passing buildings and a lighthouse beyond, the bottle stamped 'New Somerset Hospital', 24cm long. *Note- New Somerset Hospital was built in the Green Point area of Cape Town in 1864 and was named after Lord Charles Somerset, the then Governor who gave over the land for the hospital to be built.
A fragment of Admiral Lord Viscount Nelson's funeral flag from the battle ensign of HMS Victory, taken by Rowden Holdsworth, attached to a signed and witnessed letter of provenance:, the 5 cm by 3cm fragment held by two steel pins to a folded sheet with Nelson crest attached upper left corner inscribed; . Rowden Holsworth, son of Philip Holsworth, Marshall of the City of London. Maketh oath and most solemnly faith, that on the ninth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and six, be the department attendee the funeral of Admiral Lord Viscount Nelson to Saint Pauls Cathedral as a young man belonging to the Lord Mayor's Household; and that the above morceau is a part of the identical flag of HMS Victory, borne in the procession by part of the crew, with which The Hero fought, conquered and died, in the ever-memorable engagement with the Combined Fleets of France and Spain, off Cape Trafalgar on the twenty first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and five. Amendment: Please note that this plaque is copied from a painting by Charlotte Jones ( 1768-1847) of Princess Charlotte Augusta of Wales, daughter of George IV, wife of Prince Leopold of Saxe Coberg, King of Belgium, A Paris porcelain plaque of a lady of rank, 19th century, wearing an Empire line white dress, with ermine and velvet cape, leaning on a classical stone pedestal, the top laid with crowns and coronets, with an extensive view of a cathedral behind, signed to bottom right Lefevre J Fcant de porcelain Rue Amelot, in an ornate carved gilt wood frame, surmounted by a coronet, with rich scrolling and acanthus carved detail, labels to back with inventory numbers 1160 and labels for the Dublin Industrial Exhibition Palace Loan Museum of Art Treasures, the plaque 30cm x 20.5cm, the frame approximately 63cm x 45cm CONDITION REPORT: carved giltwood frame: with losses to the front edge of the decoration as follows: top left corner, centre left. bottom centre and both corners crown top centre losses to right-hand side most of the front surface of the frame with later over-painting in gold coloured paint; some original gilding is retained on the sides of the frame some flaking to the gilding and gesso on the back edges and sides mahogany backing panel in good condition bearing original exhibition label porcelain plaque: defect with glaze skip lower left corner and lesser example top right corner otherwise in good condition

A Victorian court outfit with Derby and Royal connection, comprising cape, trousers, waist jacket, tail jacket, tricorn hat, braces, white leather gloves, two silk handkerchiefs, two jabots, pair of buckled shoes, four pairs of stockings and two silver pommel walking canes contained in a tin Ede trunk. Provenance: Formerly the property of Derby Mayor Sir Alfred Seale Haslam of Breadsall Priory (1844-1927). Haslam is reputed to have worn this court dress for receiving Queen Victoria on her state visit to Derby at the City railway station on 21st May 1891. He was knighted by the Monarch at the same time. Photographs of Haslam in the said outfit can be see in Maxwell Craven's 'Derbeians of Distinction'.
