Lewis. 2nd Rl: Fus:), officially impressed; King's South Africa Medal, with two clasps South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902 (7258 Corpl. W. Lewis. Rl: Fusiliers.), officially impressed, British War Medal 1914-20 and Victory Medal (both L-7258 W.O. Cl. 2 W.A. Lewis. R. Fus.), officially impressed, and Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, Geo. V, swivel suspender (L-7258 Sjt: W.A. Lewis. R. Fus:), officially impressed, all unmounted; together with a quantity of service and other documentation, including his Discharge Certificate, showing that was born in 1880, attested at Hounslow, 6th April 1899, and was discharged upon the termination of a second period of engagement, after twenty-one years and thirty-two days with the colours, 7th May 1920; Character Certificate, 7th May 1920 ('... Exemplary. A very steady, trustworthy, reliable & well conducted man. Honest & sober'); mounted infantry training certificates, 1903 (Aldershot) and 1906 (Bangalore); transport certificate, 1903 (Aldershot); Warrant certificate, appointing him at Warrant Officer, Second Class, 23 March 1918; and other items. all Ply. 11856. Early bisque shoulder head doll, circa 1880, the pale turned bisque domed head with fixed blue glass eyes, closed mouth, pierced ears and blonde wig, on a kid leather body with bisque lower arms and wearing a mauve silk dress with cape, straw boater, underclothes and brown leather shoes, 13 ½” (34cm) tall.
Two Martha Chase cloth doll, American circa 1905, both with stockinette heads and bodies, oil painted features, both with blue eyes, lashes and red mouths, painted blonde short hair and sewn at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, larger doll wearing original cream dress with pink flowers, socks and shoes, 20” (51cm) tall, smaller doll wearing white cotton nightdress with pink knitted cape and cream bonnet, 16 ½” (42cm) tall, (2 items).
