Freeman Labour Corps; accompanied by note stating the following regarding Private Freeman in South Africa 'Second Battalion 930 strong reached Cape Town November 29th 1899. Employed on lines of communication, marched across Veldt to join Colonel Pilcher on attack on Douglas, Vaal river, January 2nd with Smith Dorriens Brigade advanced into Orange Free State fought at Klipkraal Feb 16th. Fought at Paardeberg 16th and 18th with 100 casualties Colonel Aldworth killed. Fought at Koorn Spruit March 31st at Doornkop, Johannesberg May 29th and at Krugersdorp on July 11th when Smith-Dorrien defeated [?] with heavy loss.'Additional InformationAll medals with surface wear, scratches and nicks, South Africa medal retaining some toning, some nibbling to edges, Victory medal with some wear to the gilt finish, etc.

Mason Ches.Rgt., the QSA with 'Orange Free State' and 'Cape Colony' clasps and KSA with 'South Africa 1901' and '1902' clasps listing service no. as 3697 and rank as Private and Corporal respectively, the WWI trio listing service no. as 1905 with Star listing rank as Private and latter two medals listing rank as Sergeant. Additional InformationAll medals quite heavily worn, both the QSA and KSA with numerous edge knocks, the joint between medal and ribbon of the KSA has been broken and with crude solder repair, all with surface scratches, nicks and gouges, areas of discolouration.

An 18th century Italian copper engraved hand coloured map of the Cape of Good Hope, 'Carta Geografica Del Capo Di Buona Speranza', 32.5 x 42cm, and a Dutch engraving depicting the Cape of Good Hope, 'Gezigt Van De Kaap De Goede Hoop' with key of landmarks to lower section, approx 26.5 x 36cm, both framed and glazed (2). Additional InformationRegarding the map, some old print marks, some discolouration and spotting, later inscribed 117 to upper right, engraving also with some spotting and discolouration.

Vintage 60's/70's Welsh tapestry waist length cape in a brown geometric pattern with a tie belt, Real Welsh Tapestry 'Eclipse' tailored label and another label 'Welsh Woollens woven in Wales. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Generally in very good condition, no obvious damage. Very small hole in lining near collar (probably where tag was originally).

A vintage light brown fisher fox fur jacket which comes with original Sovereign Furs guarantee dated 1983 showing it was originally bought at Debenhams, Swansea for £555. Together with a light brown mink short fur cape with armholes and a valuation for a silver/blue mink 3/4 length cape at £1800 (may not correspond to cape as description doesn't fully match). VAT) CONDITION REPORT: The fox fur is generally in good condition, some wear to fur around back of neck, Sovereign Furs Manchester label and black silky lining, lining has some small white marks to the back. The mink fur cape some wear to fur particularly around collar and armholes. The fur at the back is in good condition, the label has been removed. There is a white stain on the lining, otherwise lining in good condition.
