Mid-Victorian naval ship's manuscript log book for HMS Narcissus, flagship of the Flying (Detached) Squadron under the command of Captain William Codrington for the period January 1872 to September 1872, covering two voyages from Cape of Good Hope to Bombay, Mauritius and back, and Cape of Good Hope to Plymouth, both with Track maps, annotated laid-in photograph of The Detached Squadron anchored in Simon's Bay February 1872. Final few pages refer to a voyage of the freight ship Clara from Plymouth to Sydney January 1873 to May 1873 which refers to Admiral Codrington. Half leather binding with marbled boards protected by dustjacket made from fragment of contemporary linen backed chart. - Condition Report One page detached but present.Some crayon scribbling by child to one blank page and rear free end paper.

Born 31st October 1911 - died 13th August 2000, 88, 5 ships sunk total tonnage 22, 171 tons including British destroyer HMS Cossack in October 1941 Captain with Crew 35 U-563 / U-521, awarded Iron Cross, U-boat War Badge and Knights Cross U-521 was sunk on 2nd June 1943 by US Sub Chaser PC565 100 miles East of Cape Hatteras. Captain Bargsten was the sole survivor from the crew of 52 and spent 3 years as a POW. Good Condition. All autographed items are genuine hand signed and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. This is an oil on board painting dating back to 1862. It depicts an image of a King who is holding a goblet and has a sword on his left side, a red crown with gilt detailing a luxurious cape. It is signed indistinctly in the lower right and dated 1862. Size: 9 x 7 3/4 in. Please note that all sales are final. No refunds will be given under any circumstances.
Pablo Picasso was noted world-wide for his skills as a painter, sculptor, and printmaker, among other things. Regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, he is known for his role in founding the Cubist movement. This is an original single- sided lithograph he did in black ink for a book about bullfighting (Toreros). The lithograph is titled “Jeu de la Cape “ and dated June 3, 1961 (6.3.61 III) in the margin on the lower left, and the drawings for the book were printed by the Mourlot Studios in Paris. The plate was professionally cleaned by Cristian Stakenborg of Stakenborg Galleries in Sarasota. The mat is 15 x 20 in. wide and the plate size is 9 5/8 x 12 1/2 in. wide.
