Robert C. Ellis (American, 1923-1979). After marrying Rosamaria Ramirez de Alba, a Mexican citizen, he would split his time between the American Southwest and Mexico before finally settling in Taos in 1965. His earlier works moved through the Cubist and Abstract Expressionist movements before reaching a more minimalist influenced style in his later years. His works were exhibited at the Gump's Gallery in San Francisco, The Panhandle Museum in Texas, the Ellen Noel Art Museum of the Permian Basin in Texas, the Harwood Museum of Art in Taos, and throughout the Southwest.
