Intended to be sold at a lower price on account of the sugar bowl in place of a sucrier and decorated in an earlier sprig pattern. A RARE BRADLEY & CO COALPORT PEARLWARE PLATE, C1790 AND A CONTEMPORARY BLUE PRINTED PEARLWARE SLOP BASIN AND TWO TOY BOWLS, plate 24cm diam, impressed BRADLEY & CO COALPORT Provenance: (plate) Hugh Stretton Collection until sold Phillips; Bill Dickenson, Ironbridge. Literature: (plate) 1981, plt 149, 2004, p149; (bowl) 1981, p142, 2004, plt 42. The Bradley & Co Coalport pearlware plate is one of only a dozen knowm marked pieces from Bradley's Mr Reynolds' Pottery and the only plate. The other pieces in the lot may not be by Bradley & Co but all resemble wasters from the site. All have been included in the Coalport China Museum's, Mr Reynolds' Pottery display. ++Plate with some professional restoration, slop basin broken and restuck, larger of the toy bowls with tiny rim nick, the smaller bowl broken and restuck. A CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN CRESTED SLOP BASIN AND SEVEN COFFEE CANS, C1820 enamelled with the crest of a squirrel sejant eating a nut and gilt initials EWG on a salmon ground, coffee cans 6cm h Provenance: The crest is that of Gilbert, the initials being those of Commander Edward William Gilbert, RN (1788-1849) thence by descent to the vendor.. Literature: Howard (D S), Chinese Armorial Porcelain, 1974, p990 and Vol II, Chippenham 2003, p687. Commander E W Gilbert was the fourth son of the Rev . Edmund Gilbert, Vicar of Constantine, Cornwall. He married, in 1822, Mary, daughter of John Simpson. The Gilberts were descendants of the brother of the Elizabethan navigator Sir Humphrey Gilbert (c1539-1582) the half brother of Sir Walter Raleigh (c1554-1618). The saucer illustrated by Howard has an apparently under decorated ground, so the present item would appear to be part of a contemporary, unrecorded service. ++Three coffee cans lacking the handle, two cracked, another with restuck handle and chip. A RARE CAUGHLEY POLYCHROME SHANKED OVAL SUCRIER AND COVER, CREAM JUG, TEAPOT STAND AND SLOP BASIN, C1795 enamelled with the Salolpian Chain pattern, stand 15.5cm w Provenance: Godden Reference Collection. Exhibited: (sucrier and cover) 1999, No 720; 2015 (label un-numbered). Literature: 1989, p83; 2013, pp 181-2. The sucrier and jug illustrated and discussed in a part service, with a matching shape Chamberlain style teapot illustrated in Caughley Society Newsletter 57, February 2014, p13. These pieces are from a unique Caughley service. Some pieces are of a poor quality body. The Chamberlain style sucrier (and the matching teapot referred to) were possibly modelled for Caughley by Jean Toulouse who was known to be at Caughley c1775-85 and at Chamberlains from 1793. The factory decoration is discussed in 2005, Nos 235-7 and is believed to be known now as Salopian Chain. See lot 89 for another sucrier from the same moulds. ++Some typical wear No Reserve
A CAUGHLEY POLYCHROME SHANKED TEAPOT STAND AND SIMILAR SLOP BASIN, C1795 enamelled with the Flaming Pearl and Flaming Pearl Sprigs patterns, basin 15.5cm diam Exhibited: (the bowl) 2005, No 251. There were two different moulds for Caughley spiral fluted bowls in 1790s. On the bowl in lot 76 the top of the spiral curves below the vertical, as do the key pieces introduced in 1792 and decorated at Chamberlains. (see the jug in lot 47). On the present bowl, the spirals end vertically, as on the c1795 sucrier and jug in lot 76. The stand is from the same mould as the one in lot 76. ++Basin with minor crack; typical wear No Reserve

A Shelley tea service, Crochet pattern, six cups, saucers, plates, sugar basin, milk jug and sandwich plate. CONDITION REPORT: The service is in generally extremely good condition. All pieces are in good order with no chips, no repairs and no restoration. The gilding is generally good and there is no crazing.
A Spode Copelands China "Chelsea" patterned dinner service, comprising four pairs of ashettes, twelve crescent side plates, sugar basin, two cream jugs, nineteen 10.25 inch plates, fifteen 9.25 inch plates, one 8.75 inch plate, twenty 7.5 inch plates, two 9.5 inch lidded tureens, one sauce tureen on stand, twelve 11 inch soup bowls, fifteen 9 inch dessert bowls, seven tea cups, six saucers, milk jug, three small bowls and sugar basin (see illustration).
Railway Interest - A Victorian mahogany combined washstand, mirror and cupboard, the folding front opening to reveal a ware washbowl and tap and with mirror above. Width 21 ins, height 66 ins. CONDITION REPORT: This piece is in generally reasonable order. The top gallery is in good condition as is the mirrored front which hinges forward as it should. The sides of the piece are all in good condition with no significant breaks or damage. The front sink unit hinges forward as it should. It has been later painted inside with white paint which is beginning to show signs of age. The basin appears to be in good order with no significant damage simply old crazing. The sink is marked "North Western Railway, London". The soap dispensers are intact although one has a small hairline crack. The metalwork is original, tarnished and dirty. The front of the piece is in good condition and the knob handles original. This has the Brittania emblem on the sink with London, North Western, Railway surrounding
A Royal Albert Heirloom pattern tea service, comprising twenty cups, twenty one saucers, four sandwich plates, twenty one plates, three sugar basins, two milk jugs and teapot (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This set is in generally first class condition. The only exceptions to this being: teapot spout - damaged and missing, one sugar basin with substantial hairline crack. Other than this all other pieces are perfect. The gilding is in very good order indeed and the service appears to have had very little use. We think that all pieces are first quality in that there is no scratching out or overpainting on the marks. However, we do not know how Royal Albert signified their second quality pieces.
An Aynsley tea service, comprising eleven cups, twelve saucers, twelve plates, sandwich plate and sugar basin. CONDITION REPORT: One plate has a small under edge chip and a further small rim chip. Another plate has a very small under edge chip. One cup has a chip through the gilding to the foot rim, another has no gilding to the foot rim at all and no interior gilt line. One has a small 2 cm hairline crack, another cup has two small hairline cracks approximately 1 cm each in length. Another has small 1 cm hairline crack from the top rim. All other pieces are in generally very good condition with no damage, chips or repairs but all do have rubbing to the gilding around the top and foot rims.
