A late Victorian silver oval panelled four piece tea service by Walker & Hall, Sheffield 1891, in George III style, the tea pot with an oval ebonised finial and loop handle, engraved with foliate bands and ‘JC’ within a wreath, engraved under ‘Copy Presented by Mr. Wm. Hunter to his Sister in Novr. 1804’, comprising: a tea pot, a tea pot stand, a cream jug and a twin handled sugar basin, the tea pot 28cm (11in) long, 1220g (39.2 oz) gross. The property of the late Lord Cornwallis, sold by order of the executors.
A matched Victorian silver lobed octagonal baluster three piece tea service by Edward, Edward junior, John & William Barnard, the tea pot London 1838, the cream jug and sugar basin London 1861, the tea pot with a flowering finial, a leafy scroll handle, on a scroll work apron with four feet, engraved with an armorial and a motto ‘Love and Dread’, the tea pot 28cm (11in) long, 1509g (48.5 oz) gross. The arms are for TOWER of Weald Hall, Essex and Huntsmire Park, Bucks, impaling RICHARDS of Rew, Devonshire.
