A George III antique silver three-piece oval tea set: with reeded lower bodies, gadroon edging, scroll and shell-capped angular handles on bun feet, makers mark C.P. for Charles Price, London 1816. The teapot 30cm long, with dent on spout (see photo) clearly hallmarked on the base with fully marked lid and finial, but with replacement ivory insulated handle, makers mark G.R.C. for G.R.Collis and Co, London circa 1840. The two-handled sugar basin clearly hallmarked under the rim, the milk jug with discernible worn marks under the lip, but with handle detached wear it should attach to the base, 1300gms 41.8oz, gross weight.

Mid-18th century Chinese famille rose porcelain part tea service with polychrome painted bird and floral decoration comprising teapot, cover and stand, milk jug, sugar basin, spoon tray, two saucer dishes, four tea bowls, three coffee cups and six saucers (20 pieces) CONDITION REPORT Teapot has repair to spout, hairline under handle, chip to end of spout, milk jug cover with large chip to rim. One tea bowl badly broken and re-stuck, discoloured restoration. Chip to hexagonal-shaped dish, rim chip to largest circular dish, elsewhere slight rim chips and fritting generally to most pieces. Diameter size of largest saucer dish is approximately 20cm

An interesting 'Aesthetic Movement' Basin,c.1870, moulded on the low cylindrical exterior with white bamboo and birds, the interior with chidori leaving from rocks for the open sea amongst white bubbles, all against a deep blue ground and symbolic of the approach of winter,39cmThis pattern was closely followed at Minton after designs by Dr Christopher Dresser.Provenance: Christie's 'Oriental, Tibetan, Himalayan and Islamic Art from Spink', 19 and 20 June 1998, Lot 724.
