*Bickham (George, circa 1684-1758). The Butcher [and] Don Tonsorio, Chiverere Scrapere, Trimerado, Cove of the Sniveling Chive, Vulgarly call'd a Barber..., circa 1740, two uncoloured engraved satirical broadsides, showing a representative of each profession displayed as a composite figure made up of the implements used in that particular profession, some spotting and staining, some marginal repaired closed tears, laid on later backing card, each approximately 265 x 195 mm BM 2469 & 2470. The barber is made of a shaving basin, scissors, razors, strops and pinching irons. The butcher is composed of an axe, a cleaver, apron, knife steel and is shown with cloven feet and the head of a calf. Scarce. (2)

Baker (Samuel White). On the Sources of the Nile, (Royal Institution of Great Britain. Weekly Evening Meeting), Friday, January 26, 1866. 15 pp., partly unopened, disbound, contained in modern foldover case, 8vo Scarce offprint of a lecture given by Baker at the Royal Institution on Januery 26, 1866. His expedition, which discovered the Albert Nyanza is recounted in his book The Albert N'Yanza, Great Basin of the Nile and published in the same year. (1)

A Grand Tour bronze sculpture after the antique, being a scale copy of the Dancing Faun at Pompei, 72 cm The original Dancing Faun was discovered in the atrium of the subsequently named 'House of Faun' in Pompeii, first excavated by archaeologists in 1830. The figure of the dancing faun originally stood on the lip of the impluvium, a basin for catching rainwater, and a copy has since been placed in the centre. The original Dancing Faun is currently held in the collection of the Naples Archaeological Museum.
