Large Glazed Pottery Basin, 51cm

George Meekyn (1831-1909) - Nottingham Castle from Fothergill's Basin, where the River Leen and the canal met, signed and dated 1880, oil on canvas, 29.5 x 45cm Ready to hang in gallery condition. Signs of former cleaning and minor scrubbing in places. Stable craquelure, not discoloured. The verso of the canvas fitted with a cover, under which appears to be the original lined canvas.

Chinese Blue and White Painted Porcelain Foot Bath Bowl. Marked on base. oval in shape with bombe sides, the vintage porcelain basin is dressed with two side handles; it is decorated with hand painted floral motifs around the perimeter of the pot, the inside features painted fish and flower decor all in a blue and white palette.
