SAM COOKE/JAMES BROWNMusic Poster (14" x 22.5")Very Fine WMCA/Paramount, 1964What an incredible line-up this show had! Sam Cooke, James Brown, Bobby Rydell, Jackie Wilson, Leslie Gore, and the Four Seasons-the top artists of this time and place. There are two pieces of cloth tape on the upper edge of the verso and some crimping in both upper corners. On December 26, 1963, WMCA, with Jack Spector as the DJ, earned the distinction of being the first New York City radio station to play the Beatles' Capitol Records' single, "I Want to Hold Your Hand". Jack was part of a Top-10 group of deejays known as "the Good Guys." WMCA was an AM radio station in New York throughout the early 1960s before switching to talk radio by the 1970s. They would sponsor these Paramount Theater shows with the greatest musical stars of the day. This lot will be auctioned on Thursday, April 18th. YELLOW SUBMARINESix Sheet (79" x 80")Very Fine Folded; Artwork by Heinz Edelmann United Artists, 1968An unrestored poster shows fold separation on two panels, and strips of tape brace a repaired corner to the top right panel. The poster is printed in four panels as originally issued.A superb and colorful animated feature, Yellow Submarine contains some of the Beatles' biggest hits and far-out animation headed by Heinz Edelmann. Though the Fab Four sang the songs used in the film, actors supplied the voices of John, Paul, George, and Ringo in the non-musical segments. This lot will be auctioned on Thursday, April 18th. The auction will begin at 9:30am PST and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. Lot 313

YELLOW SUBMARINEBanner (24" x 83.75)Fine- Rolled United Artists , 1968This is a very scarce format for the Beatles completist. The corners have pinholes and some minor tears. It's yellowed, and there are drips of staining on the center of the banner. Part of the NSS number has been written over and replaced.A superb and colorful animated feature, Yellow Submarine contains some of the Beatles' biggest hits and far-out animation headed by Heinz Edelmann. Though the Fab Four sang the songs used in the film, actors supplied the voices of John, Paul, George, and Ringo in the non-musical segments. This lot will be auctioned on Thursday, April 18th. Richard Lester returns to the director's chair as the boys engage in a globe-spanning chase after Ringo becomes the target of a religious cult looking to retrieve a jewel in the drummer's possession. This lot will be auctioned on Thursday, April 18th. HELP!French Lobby Card Set (12) with Envelope (8.5" x 10.5")Very Fine+ United Artists, 1965This French lobby set is in very nice condition with minor wear. This is the Beatles' (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr) spoof of the famous James Bond franchise in this comic misadventure, their follow-up to the incredibly popular A Hard Day's Night. Richard Lester returns to the director's chair as the boys engage in a globe-spanning chase after Ringo becomes the target of a religious cult looking to retrieve a jewel in the drummer's possession. This lot will be auctioned on Thursday, April 18th. BEATLES, THEPromo Personality Poster Set (4) (14.25" x 18.25")Very Fine+ Rolled; Artwork by Nicholas Volpe Capitol Records, Seltaeb, Inc., 1964Nicolas Volpe created the paintings from which these posters were produced in 1964. Made exclusively for Seltaeb, copyright 1964, and distributed by Nems Enterprises Ltd. The Beatles first sat for Volpe at New York's Waldorf Astoria. These four stunning vintage rolled portraits have only the most minor handling wear and are presented immaculately.Founded in Liverpool in 1960, The Beatles - aka "the Fab Four," comprising John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr - became an unprecedented pop-music phenomenon. They are justifiably regarded as the greatest-ever pop band and remain the best-selling music artists of all time. This lot will be auctioned on Friday, April 19th. The auction will begin at 9:30am PST and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. Lot 311

YELLOW SUBMARINEOne Sheet (27" x 41"); Withdrawn StyleFine+ Folded; Artwork by Heinz Edelmann United Artists, 1968This is the classic one-sheet for Yellow Submarine, featuring the psychedelic animation style of Czech-German illustrator Heinz Edelmann. This style poster was replaced shortly after distribution, as it was quickly made clear that the Beatles only did eleven songs for the film, not the dozen as advertised on this poster. All of the larger format posters distributed have the correct number of eleven songs advertised there. This poster with bright images has a handful of pinhole tears and holes in the upper area, with two reinforced on the back with tape. There is also some tiny sporadic separation at the ends of some horizontal and vertical folds, a small tear in the lower left border, and some light separation in the lower and upper center point cross folds. And while there is a stamp on the verso, there is no bleed-through. A superb and colorful animated feature, Yellow Submarine contains some of the Beatles' biggest hits and far-out animation headed by Heinz Edelmann. Note other lots in the auction may close on April 19th.

Lot 321

A HARD DAY'S NIGHTBanners (2) (24" x 83.75")Fine Rolled United Artists , 1964 & 1965Banners were generally produced to cover an area over the entryway to a theater. Often, they were silk-screened and had the Sign Painter's Union Seal on them. They were printed in far fewer numbers than almost all other formats, as theater owners ordered fewer. This group of two banners is a very rare combination and would be a great find for the Beatles completist. The Help! banner has several scuffs and marks. The Hard Day's Night has some tanning, small tears, and edge wear. A Hard Day's Night is a British musical comedy directed by Richard Lester and starring the Beatles; John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. It was nominated for two Academy Awards and chronicles 36 hours in the band's lives during the height of Beatlemania. Help! is a 1965 British musical comedy also directed by Lester, starring the Beatles, and sees the band trying to protect Ringo Starr from a sinister cult. This lot will be auctioned on Thursday, April 18th. The auction will begin at 9:30am PST and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. Note other lots in the auction may close on April 19th.
