Autographs - The Beatles - A black and white photograph showing The Beatles arriving in the U.S.A. for their 1964 tour, signed by John, Paul and George, 19.5cm x 24.5cm Provenance - Obtained in person by the vendor whilst working as an air hostess on TWA flight 703 on Friday 13th August 1965. This was the flight taken by The Beatles to the United States for their 1965 tour. There is an in-depth on-line account of this flight which includes recollections by the vendor’s co-hostess Gisa Kothe. This can be found at www.schaarcommunications.com/Beatles.Encounters.html In this account is included Ms Kothe’s copy of the same photograph which also includes Ringo’s signature in orange pen. If carefully inspected this lot also has traces of orange ink in the same place on the photograph so we must assume that this signature has faded from view As the autographs were signed against a largely black background i.e their clothing they are not easy to read, Ringo`s autograph is almost non-existent as he used an orange pen, our research has shown that one other flight attendants photo also signed has
