BEATLES THE: A vintage blue printed oblong 12mo ticket for The Davis Cup Semi-Final Round European Zone tennis matches played at Bristol Lawn Tennis Club, Thursday, 18th July 1963, individually signed to the verso by three members of The Beatles, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Each have signed with their names alone in bold blue inks. McCartney would appear to have almost signed his name twice, a further initial P appearing below the three signatures. Not signed by John Lennon. With three small tape stains to three corners, not affecting the signatures, and the name of the previous collector in ink at the base of the card. Some very light, minor surface creasing, G The Beatles performed live at the Odeon theatre in Weston-Super-Mare, near Bristol, from 22nd - 27th July 1963 as part of their Summer UK Tour.

Signed and inscribed ('Love to Helen from John Lennon xxx') by Lennon in bold blue ink to the front pastedown and signed ('Ringo Starr') by Ringo Starr in bold black ink with his name alone to the front free endpaper. Not signed by Paul McCartney or George Harrison. Lennon's signature appears beneath an ink presentation inscription to the previous owner, 1964. Some very light, extremely minor age wear, VG Provenance: The present lot is accompanied by a typed statement signed by John Rushing stating, in part, 'On the 9th November 1964 I was a police sergeant in Sheffield and given the duty of getting The Beatles, after their journey from Manchester, into the Sheffield City Hall…..That morning I bought a copy of John Lennon's illustrated poems for my ten year old daughter Helen's birthday. With two other plain clothed officers I met The Beatles and ushered them through the…..rear doors of the City Hall. I sat with them back-stage as they ate a cold chicken meal before their concert and John Lennon and Ringo Starr kindly signed the poetry book'. The Beatles performed in concert at the City Hall, Sheffield, on 9th November 1964 as part of their Autumn UK Tour.

THE BEATLES - PLEASE PLEASE ME 1ST STEREO - A very scarce 1st UK stereo pressing of the famous debut studio album by The Beatles, issued on Parlophone (PCS 3042). Dick James credits for tracks A1,2,6,7 and B4,6. The Dick James credits are misaligned on the 2nd and 3rd line on the side 1 label, indicating an first run. MATRIX/STAMPERS: YEX 94-1 1 G + YEX 95-1 1 R. Note that the stampers are from "machine 1" and as such this is the earliest possible pressing. The record is in G+ condition. There are several surface marks to the record but no deeper scratches or "feelable" marks. The labels are fully readable and only a little worn. The sleeve is in G+ condition. The rear flipback designed sleeve is worn on the top and bottom with a few small tears. The front of the sleeve in nice clean condition.
