Signed in blue inks with their names alone to the plain verso. Some overall creasing, most noticeable to the upper edge of the recto (and affecting the image) and with light overall age wear, the signatures largely unaffected. About G

LENNON JOHN: (1940-1980) English singer and musician, co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the Beatles. An excellent original blue ink self-portrait drawn by Lennon on a partially printed 12mo (approximately 3 x 5.5”, 8 x 13.5 cm) page removed from a bartender's notepad (advertising Liqueurs Bardinet and Rhum Negrita), the appealing image depicting Lennon in a profile portrait pose wearing a pair of glasses. Signed ('John Lennon') in blue ink to the verso and further signed by Ringo Starr (1940-     ) English musician, drummer with the Beatles, in blue ink with his first name only. Accompanied by an original 12mo printed ticket stub from a Beatles concert held at the Sporthall in Eskilstuna on 29th October 1963 during the band's Autumn 1963 Sweden Tour. A superb piece of original artwork by Lennon, enhanced by the presence of Starr's signature. Very slightly irregularly torn to the lower edge, VGProvenance: The present drawing is accompanied by a handwritten letter of provenance signed by the original recipient, Irene Carlsson, stating, in full, 'After the Beatles concert in Eskilstuna Sporthall on Tuesday the 29th October 1963, I was invited to meet the Beatles in the bar at the Eskilstuna Staff Hotel. There in the bar John Lennon made this drawing'.
