His work appears in several collections both in Scotland and abroad, including the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and Kelvingrove Art Gallery. In 2007 Byrne was made a full member of the Royal Scottish Academy and is also an Honorary Fellow of the Glasgow School of Art.

LENNON & ONO: LENNON JOHN (1940-1980) English Musician, a member of The Beatles & ONO YOKO (1933-     ) Japanese Artist, Singer & Peace Activist, wife of John Lennon 1969-80. A rare signed and inscribed album record sleeve by both Lennon and Ono individually for Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins (1968), being the first of three experimental albums by Lennon and Ono released with Apple Records and parent company EMI. Contained in the original cellophane wrapper and signed by Lennon and Ono individually in black inks with their first names (Lennon adding an inscription in his hand, ‘Greg – love’) directly beneath the controversial front cover image depicting the couple standing together in full length naked poses. Framed and glazed in a plain black frame to an overall size of 15.5 x 15.5. Together with a selection of unsigned related material and printed ephemera including the Wedding Album (1969) box set, being the third and final experimental albums recorded by Lennon and Ono, a white vinyl Bagism slip sleeve containing a cardstock image of a single slice of wedding cake, two printed folding booklets of images and newspaper reports of Lennon & Ono entitled The Wedding and The Press, a printed double-sided folding booklet of Lennon & Ono’s cartoon drawings recounting the story of their wedding, two postcards of the couple, several single records, an 8vo printed War Is Over! Christmas card etc. Some light overall age wear, generally about VG, Sml. THE BEATLES - FROM ME TO YOU - UK 7" DEMO (R 5015). Superb condition original UK 7" demo of From Me To You c/w Thank You Girl which was released on 11th April 1963. The record (Parlophone white/red A labels) is in outstanding Ex+ or 'NM' condition - looking like it has had very few plays, the extremely clean playing surfaces show only a couple of extremely faint and wispy markings that are only really noted under intense LED lighting. Serrated edges around the labels. '1.55, 11/4/63, Carolyn Rawlins' written on the A side label. Matrix/mother stampers: 7XCE 17329-1N MT JR & 7XCE 17330-1N MT JR. Housed with original (stock) Parlophone company sleeve in Ex condition.

THE BEATLES - PLEASE PLEASE ME LP (1ST UK MONO 'BLACK AND GOLD' - PMC 1202). A nice 'starter' copy for one who's after an original UK (mono) black and gold! The record (PMC 1202, black and gold labels with Dick James credits) is in G+ condition. Still nice and glossy, there are a number of surface/scuff markings, the most notable running through side 2 and at its heaviest can just about be felt. With nice and clean labels. XEX 421 1N 1 T & 422-1N 1 GR matrix/mother stampers. The original sleeve is in G condition - the front image nice and clean, there is a complete split on the reverse bottom edge - with care this could be repaired.

THE BEATLES - LET IT BE - ORIGINAL UK 'PXS 1' BOX SET. A well presented complete original UK copy of Let It Be, often referred to as the 'PXS 1' set. The record (PCS 7096 -3/2U) is in VG+ condition with some light surface/hairline marks. The original red apple sleeve is in VG condition with some light creases. The 'Get Back' book is in Ex condition with no loose pages. The 'holding' tray is in VG condition with some light tears though is 'just about' fully intact. The 'outer' tray is in VG condition with some creases and a couple of light tears. The slip case is in clean Ex condition with some light wear around the edges with no rips or tears.

THE BEATLES - PLEASE PLEASE ME LP (1ST UK MONO 'BLACK AND GOLD' - PMC 1202). Great example copy of the iconic 1st UK 'black and gold' pressing of Please Please Me. The record (PMC 1202, Dick James credits for tracks A1, 2, 4, 6, 7, B4 and B6 is in VG+ condition - both sides with a great glossy lustre, there are some light and minor surface/hairline marks which are at no point heavier in nature. Absolutely superb sharp and clean labels. Matrix/mother stampers: XEX 421-1N 1 G G & XEX 422-1N 1 P. With original Emitex inner. The 1st pressing ('right' aligned Angus McBean credit) is in ace Ex condition - not often seen this clean, the front cover in superb condition with only a couple of very minor creases to the laminate, the reverse (again, showing only minor) wear to the laminate on the flipback tabs and some rather light discolouration. Top copy.

Signatures obtained during the filming of A Hard Day's Night by make up artist John O’Gorman for his wife’s god daughter, who has subsequently donated the piece to our vendor, in order to raise money for charity Yarmouth Greyhound Homefinders. The signatures have clearly been stored in direct sunlight and as a result are very faded.

THE BEATLES - PLEASE PLEASE ME LP (1ST UK 'BLACK AND GOLD' PRESSING). A solid example original UK 1st mono pressing copy of Please Please Me, this a extremely rare 'crossover' pressing... The record (Dick James credits for tracks A1, 2, 6, 7, B4 and B6) has circular deep grooved labels on both sides, this the result of using the old stamp machines. The record is in VG condition - still retaining nice and glossy playing surfaces, there are surface markings to both sides though these are never heavier with no scratches to mention. Matrix/mother stampers: XEX 421-1N 1 H & XEX 422-1N 1 H . The first pressing (right aligned Angus McBean credit) sleeve is in VG condition - showing the usual light crashes to the laminate, there is a sticker on the bottom middle section that has been coloured in black on one side and is white on the other side. Some wear along the flipback design and a name in pen on the reverse top section. Very few of these with this label variation were printed.

THE BEATLES - WHITE ALBUM (ORIGINAL UK MONO PMC 7067/8 - NUMBER 00918358. A well presented nice and low number White Album! With 'Sold In UK' and 'Mfd. In UK.' text and no 'EMI Recording' on record 1, note with 'EMI Recording' record 2. Record 1 is in VG+ condition with some light surface/scuff markings, none of which are ever heavier in nature. Record 2 is in VG condition with slightly more surface marks noted, though again nothing heavier with no scratches. -1/-1/-1/-1 matrix endings. With 2 x original black inners (one has tape repair, the other a little torn), 1 x poster, no photos. The top loading sleeve is in VG condition - the front and inside sections of the gatefold in very neat order, there is some 'tip-ex' like markings on the reverse.

An original handbill from January 1961 listing two events, Fri 27th at the Aintree Institute with 'The Sensational Beatles' and to the verso advertising the following night with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. Measures approx 5 x 8". In very good condition with only very light foxing to centre of handbill.

Titles are Pantomime Everywhere It's Christmas (LYN 1145 - neat Ex/Ex copy, no insert), Christmas Time (Is Here Again) (LYN 1360 - VG a couple of light creases/Ex, no insert), The Beatles Sixth Christmas Record (LYN 1743/1744 - Ex/VG+, no insert) and Happy Christmas 1969 (LYN 1970/1971 - Ex+/Ex+ lovely copy with insert).

Titles are White Album (mono top loading number 0286562, with 'An EMI Recording' on labels - record 1 VG+, record 2 VG, some surface marks, no heavier scratches/with orig black inners, one is torn and poster, no photos/VG sleeve, has been slightly 'squashed' at some point, the rest of the sleeve would clean up), Yellow Submarine (1st UK mono pressing PMC 7070 - VG+ some light surface/scuff marks, never heavier/VG+ original 'two red lines' sleeve, light ringwear/discolouration), Let It Be (UK original PCS 7096 2U/2U - VG+ a few light scuffs/VG+ red apple sleeve, some light edge/shelfwear, complete with Get Back book in excellent condition) and Abbey Road (PCS 7088 - VG light scratch on side 1/Ex 'aligned' sleeve, no 'Her Majesty' on labels or sleeve).

The record (red Parlophone labels 45-R 4949, 'Made In Gt. Britain' text) is in fantastic Ex+ condition - both playing sides superb, there are just a couple of extremely faint and light paper scuff markings. Super sharp labels showing only a couple of very light spindle marks. Matrix/mother stampers: 7XCE 17144-1N ZT I P & 7XCE 17145-1N ZT I A. Housed with Ex condition original Parlophone company sleeve.
