Signed and limited edition No.591 of this book and photographic print set that covers Jurgen's early work with The Beatles in Hamburg during 1960 through to his later days in Hollywood. BEATLES RINGO / RORY STORM & THE HURRICANES. A complete entertainment programme from July 1960 for Butlins Pwllheli. Within the programme Rory Storm with Ringo playing drums with The Hurricanes are listed as playing on 6 consecutive evenings in the Rock and Calypso Ballroom from Sunday July 17th through to Friday July 22nd. The programme is complete and in very good condition.
BEATLES & THE QUARRYMEN RELATED PROGRAMME. A "Variety at The Empire Theatre, Liverpool" programme from Monday June 10th 1957. On the opening page of the programme is a "Next Week" advert for the "Carroll Levis TV Star Search". The Quarrymen (including John Lennon and Paul McCartney) attended the auditions (which were every night that week) but failed to get through to the finals. A rare piece of early Beatles & The Quarrymen connected memorabilia.

Titles are With The Beatles (mono PMC 1206 'Jobete' credit for Money, 1N/1N matrix endings - Ex light hairline on side 2/Ex light laminate wear to the 'Gotta' sleeve), Abbey Road (PCS 7088 misaligned apple, no 'Her Majesty' on label or sleeve - Ex+ superb record with few markings/Ex+ outstanding sleeve, a final upgrade copy) and Let It Be (red apple PCS 7096 2U/2U - Ex+ lovely record/Ex+ slight wear to the front laminate).
1959 MERSEYSIDE JAZZ UNION (CAVERN CLUB) MEMBERSHIP CARD. A pink card (No.6659), dated 26th Apr 1959 belonging to Rosaline Lever. This card would have granted access to The Cavern Club during 1959 during which time Rory Storm & The Hurricanes played on numerous occasions (originally under the name of Al Storm) along with big Jazz names such as Joe Harriott and Tubby Hayes. Whilst not confirmed it is rumoured that The Quarrymen (with soon to become Beatles John, Paul & George) also performed at The Cavern during 1959. Measures 10cm x 6cm
THE BEATLES / SILVER BEETLES 1960 JACARANDA CLUB MEMBERSHIP CARD. Superb and extremely rare membership card from 1960 for the Jacaranda CLub in Liverpool. The Silver Beetles (and Beatles as they changed their name to that year) performed here around 12 times during 1960 with the club being owned by their former manager Allan Williams. The card has the No. "FM10 60" written on the front with the "BOW" on rear (thought to be the initials of Allan Williams' wife Beryl). Business card size measuring 5cm x 9cm.
JACARANDA ENTERPRISES 1960 FLYER HANDBILL - BEATLES, RINGO, EDDIE COCHRAN ET AL. Historical handbill for the planned performance by Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran and Rory Storm & The Hurricanes at the Liverpool Stadium on May 3rd 1960. Tragically Eddie Cochran was killed on April 17th so a revised handbill had to be printed although this was printed prior to his death. In addition to Ringo playing with Rory Storm The Silver Beetles (including John, Paul, George and Stuart Sutcliffe) are thought to have been in attendance. In excellent condition with a small horizontal crease along centre and mild yellowing to paper. Measures 12.5cm x 19cm
BEATLES / SILVER BEETLES 1960 TICKET. An extremely rare ticket for the "Old Time Modern Sequence Xmas Ball" at The Grosvenor Ballroom Wallasey on 21st December, 1960. The ticket has a reminder that states "Don't forget the Xmas Eve Gala with Derry & The Seniors, The Silver Beetles". This incredible item shows how they were still being referred to as "The Silver Beetles" and on this particular night Chas Newby played bass for them. Measures 17cm x 12cm and in very good condition with light foxing.
BEATLES LIVERPOOL JAZZ SOCIETY TICKET. A complimentary ticket to admit two ladies to the club at 13, Temple Street on the 13th March 1961. Formerly known as "The Iron Door" The Beatles headlined the evening of the 13th March and performed along with Gerry And The Pacemakers. The ticket has the names of Rory Storm and The Hurricanes, The Fabulous Beatles and Gerry and The Pacemakers stamped in red on the reverse. The ticket is in excellent condition and measures 11cm x 8.5cm.
CURT GUNTHER BEATLES USA 1964 LIMITED EDITION PHOTOGRAPHS “GIRLS, CARS AND GUITARS” PORTFOLIO. Incredible collection of twenty four 22” x 17” black and white photographs taken by their official photographer, Curt Gunther during their 1964 USA tour. This beautifully put together portfolio combines intimate shots of them backstage with guitars and travelling in cars along with shots of the frenzy created by their much adoring fans. BEATLES "FAN CLUB" 1962 CAVERN CLUB FLYER. Rarely seen flyer for the "Beatles for their fans" performance at The Cavern on 5th April 1962, as taken from the wall of the Cavern Club. This was the first such flyer to feature an image of the band. Some paper loss, tears and tape residue but all text legible.
THE BEATLES "FOUR ACES" FULLY SIGNED PROGRAMME. A stunning set of all four Beatles autographs on the inside page of the programme above their images. Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr have all signed in blue ballpoint above their images with a dedication in George's hand reading "To Daphne from". In addition to The Beatles the programme has been signed by all of the other acts on the bill to include Mary Wells, Mary Wells guitarist, Bob Bain, Michael Haslam, Sounds Incorporated, Tommy Quickly, The Rustiks, The Remo Four and Tour Manager Johnny Clapson. Daphne was a family friend of Brian Epstein and it was at the request of Brian that all the acts signed and dedicated the programme. One of the best and cleanest set of signatures on a Beatles programme you will see. Authenticated by Roger Epperson prior to entry to this sale.
BEATLES 1963 PHOTOGRAPHS - CARDIFF AND TAUNTON. Fascinating lot here as we aproach the 50th anniversary of 'Abbey Road'. 17 original black and white photographs to include 9 from when The Beatles stayed at The Angel Hotel in Cardiff and 8 from when they stayed at the Castle Hotel in Taunton. The nine 4x4" images from Cardiff include great shots of Paul, John and George posing for the camera and signing autographs. The eight 3"x3" images from Taunton show The Beatles arriving at the hotel in their car with numerous fans surrounding them and asking for autographs. All images were taken by Beatles fan Edwina Timms and will be sold with full copyright.
BEATLES - JOHN AND RINGO ON HOLIDAY IN WEST INDIES 1966. Collection of eight black and white photographs of John Lennon and Ringo Starr on holiday in Tobago with their wives during January of 1966. The 2.5" x 3.5" photographs show them relaxing on the beach in their swimwear. Taken by McDonald Bailey who was The Beatles escort during their vacation and sold with full copyright.
BEATLES "HELLO GOODBYE" SAVILLE THEATRE NEGATIVES FROM 1967. Fantastic collection of 36 black and white 35mm negatives featuring images of The Beatles on stage filming promotional footage for Hello Goodbye at the Saville Theatre, London on November 10th, 1967. All of the head and shoulders shots were taken by lighting technician John McConaghy and include ten of John Lennon on stage, seven of Paul McCartney, five of RIngo Starr on drums, four of George Harrison and six of McCartney, Harrison and Lennon. Lot includes 2 contact sheets, original Wallace Heaton negative wallet plus documentation relating to their prior purchase at auction. The images are sold with full copyright.
BEATLES HELP! NEGATIVES FROM 1965. Incredible and previously unseen archive of 124 black and white 35mm negatives taken on the set of Help! in Obertauern, Austria during March of 1965. The images were taken by German professional photographer Bernd Kappelmeyer and include some superb shots of all four Beatles whilst behind the scenes plus some striking images of them doing the snow scenes with sleighs. Included are 3 original contact sheets showing 90 of the images plus 4 recently printed contact sheets showing 36 images. These have been consigned directly by the vendor and will be sold with full copyright.
THE BEATLES COLLECTION (NEW ZEALAND LP BOX SET). Fantastic scarce New Zealand pressing of 'The Beatles Collection' (referred to as BC 13). This is the 1980 pressing with 'dark red' lettering box - the records are in Ex+ condition showing few markings with the outer box in Ex condition with a little wear around the edges.
BOX SETS. Terrific selection of 5 x sought after box sets. Titles are The Beatles At The Beeb (US private 3 x LP housed in black box), 1962-1966/1967-1970 (Japanese set housed in 'double sided' red/blue box, quite interesting!), Music Is From Me To You (another unusual Japanese box set containing the 'red' and 'blue' albums, this time with a whole host of additional material) and The Beatles' Story (Japanese AP-8676~7). Also to include 'The BBC Archives' book set. Condition is generally VG+ to Ex+.
THE BEATLES COLLECTION (BC 13) - ORIGINAL LP BOX SET. A top copy of the original 1978 13 x LP box set (BC 13). With 'EMI Records' text on the Parlophone LPs and 'Apple Records - All Rights Of...' text on the Apple LPs. The LPs are in Ex+ or archive condition and look to have been played sparingly, if at all! The sleeves are all Ex+ or archive with the exception of Revolver which has a light seam split on the top edge. The outer box is in Ex condition with a little peeling to the lid section. Complete with poster.
