EPSTEIN BRIAN: (1934-1967) English Music Entrepreneur, manager of The Beatles. D.S., Brian Epstein, two pages, 4to, London, 13th July 1966. The typed document takes the form of a letter to Epstein from Bernard Delfont and relates to an as yet untitled production by Alan Simpson, Ray Galton and Eric Sykes and starring Frankie Howerd and Cilla Black, which will be held at the Prince of Wales theatre around 3rd November, and is an agreement that Epstein and Delfont will each be responsible for half the cost of the show ('the Production will require an initial capitalisation of £25,000 and further sums of money may be required from time to time in order to cover all contingencies') and also split the profits, or losses, fifty-fifty. Signed by Epstein at the conclusion on behalf of NEMS Presentations Ltd, confirming and agreeing to the contents of the letter. Accompanied by an unsigned carbon typed copy of the document. [BEATLES THE]: An 8 x 10 photograph showing a queue of fans entering The Cavern Club in Liverpool in the 1960s, signed by three individuals relating to The Beatles, Allan Williams (first manager of the band), Bob Wooler (resident DJ of the The Cavern Club who introduced The Beatles to Brian Epstein) and Alf Bicknell (Chauffeur to The Beatles 1964-66). Each have signed with their names alone in bold blue and black inks to clear areas of the image. Together with two 10 x 8 photographs of The Beatles in early line-ups (pre-Ringo Starr), one signed by Allan Williams and the other by Beryl Adams (Secretary to Brian Epstein 1961-62). EX, 3

A quantity of various 1960's ephemera to include eight Beatles albums, Jimi Hendrix album "Axis: Bold as Love", mono, Jimi Hendrix ticket for concert at The Albert Hall, February 1969, Harlem Globetrotters ticket April 28th 1969, six various Beatles paperbacks, various fan club letters, Pop Weekly No. 32, various Beatles and Sensations postcards, a quantity of various Beatles "Face" prints (ex poster from "Hard Day's Night" film), removed from Brixton Cinema hoarding, two autograph albums, including Ringo Starr, Ronnie Spector, and others and a white sheet inscribed with boot polish "Come back soon", held up by the vendor at the airport upon The Beatles departure for their first USA tour and four albums of various newspaper clippings collected at the time CONDITION REPORTS All in used and worn condition, with various dirt, stains, wear, some tattiness to edges etc. Autograph books contain various autographs on scraps of paper, and many biro i nscriptions next to the autographs and sellotape and sellotape stains. Inspection in person is recommended for this lot.
Autograph BooksTwo autograph books from the early 1960's which includes the four Beatles signed during their 1963 Royal Command Performance with an additional John Lennon, other performers collected on this occasion include The Clarke Brothers, Max Bygraves, Susan Maughan and Tommy Steele; many other autographs include, The Searchers, Cliff Richard, Bruce Forsythe, Freddie and the Dreamers, Adam Faith, The Seekers, The Shadows, Roy Orbison; the second album from 1957 is mostly entertainers including Googie Withers, Larry Adler, Russ Conway, David Jacobs, Benny Hill, and some later additions in 1988 including Gene Pitney, Des O'Connor, Everly Brothers, Gypsy Rose Lee, Telly Savalas, Kevin Keegan, Christopher Lee, Arthur Ash, Henry Cooper and many others.
