A rare and original concert poster advertising The Beatles plus The Deltones and Derrick and The Falcons at Buxton's Pavillion Ballroom on Saturday, 19th October 1963. Famous photographs from this concert document the 'Beatlemania' effect, with fainting fans being carried out of the venue whilst the band performed. The poster measures 20 x 30" and has been folded. Shows losses, tape to corners where has been previously displayed, some staining. Poster is otherwise intact without many paper losses to main body.Provenance: following the sale of a similar poster from the concert in our sale of 11th October 2022, a vendor, based in the Buxton area, contacted us with this example. They (the vendor) attended the concert and obtained this poster at the time. You can view an interesting video documenting memories of the concert here - https://youtu.be/wkaKehv7o2w

An original souvenir programme for the 'Northern Premiere' of 'A Hard Day's Night' (1964) at the Odeon Cinema, Liverpool, July 10th 1964, signed to first page clearly and in good size by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison. Page measures 22 x 28cm. Also to include a rare satchel bag 'Beatles on British Eagle International Airlines', in very good condition. The bag and the programme were obtained by the vendor, who in 1964 won a competition with The Daily Sketch to fly from London to Liverpool with The Beatles to watch the premiere of AHDN.A detailed two-page letter of provenance documents what must have been an incredible experience for our then 19 year old vendor, who writes how Paul kindly gifted her the 'British Eagle' satchel during the return flight and also gave her the number of the studio where the Beatles would be recording the following day (she wrote it down on the page with the signatures). A period news cutting is included detailing the trip.Condition - the programme has a partially loose cover and some of the pages to the rear are stuck together. 1963 Austin Mini Cooper Mk. I (997cc) Transmission: manualMileage:95316The history of this revolutionary motorcar is well-known and its impact socially, culturally and mechanically is well documented. The Swinging Sixties, The Beatles, Twiggy and the Mini are inexorably combined to represent an era that is remembered with great fondness by many people. Very few classic cars have seen such a meteoric rise in values as the Mini has over the past five years. The Mini holds an iconic place in British motor car history and in the hearts and minds of anyone who has owned one, it is safe to say no other car can spark a conversation in the same way as a Mini can. On its introduction in August 1959 the Mini was marketed under the Austin and Morris names, as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini Minor. The Austin Seven was renamed Austin Mini in January 1962 and Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969.Manufactured on 15th May 1963 and first registered on 3rd June 1963 this Mini Cooper has been owned by the late vendor since 27th February 1964. He purchased the car from Moir & Baxter Ltd in Edinburgh for the sum £490.00. The car was supplied to Moir & Baxter Ltd from the factory and it is thought this Mini Cooper was a demonstrator vehicle initially. A restoration project was carried out circa 2009/10 and appears to have been completed to a high standard. Unfortunately, due to poor health, the car was used very little after the completion of the restoration, with the car being stored in the registered keepers garage. Finished in the classic Cooper Mk. I colour combination of Almond Green with Porcelain Green and Dove Grey interior this Mini will require some recommissioning. A significant history folder accompanies 3559 SC with invoices confirming the restoration and a host of previous MoT test certificates. This unique and correct 997cc Cooper has the potential to be a wonderful example without too much effort.Interested parties should note that we have put a new battery on the car and replaced the fuel and the car started straightaway. The engine runs very well and has clearly been rebuilt to a very good standard. The clutch is free and the gearbox appears to operate as it should. Some recommissioning will still be required, including changing the fluids etc. and the tyres, whilst in good order are aged and should be replaced. The overall impression of this Mini Cooper is it has obviously been much loved and well cared for.*Library Images
