1960s autograph book to include George Harrison and Ringo Starr of the Beatles, obtained by the vendor's husband when the Beatles played at the Colston Hall c1963 Provenance: Obtained at a concert at Colston Hall, Bristol in the early 1960's by the vendor's late husband. A pupil at Bristol Grammar School, after the concert he climbed a fence to reach the band, managed to access the backstage area and convinced the staff that he was a reporter for the school magazine. Only George Harrison and Ringo Starr were available, and he managed to 'interview' them and obtain their autographs. Because he lived locally, Ringo and George asked him to show them the sights of Bristol, and they then drove around together in the Beatles' car. Other living relatives have verified this story. The book also includes autographs many other 1960s artists who appeared at the Colston Hall and the Hippodrome including Acker Bilk on a card, Billy Fury, Sam Cooke, Billy Preston, Jimmy Smith, Little Richard (including his then address), Marty White, Karl Denver, Ketty Lester, Mike Sarne, Frank Ifield, Brian Bennett, Brian (Licorice) Locking, Hank Marvin (The Shadows), Helen Shapiro, Frankie Vaughan, Ricky Brook, Little Eva, Bob & John Allison, Brenda Lee, Del Shannon, Eden Kane, Dion, Peppi, Mike Berry, Danny Williams and Brian Hyland.
