Seated with legs crossed on a rocky pedestal covered with layers of leaves, both hands resting on his lap in dhyanamudra, wearing various garments including a patchwork mantle covering his head and kept together by a long clasp draped over his left shoulder, a pair of shoes in front of him, his elderly face with slightly emaciated features but displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below long, bushy eyebrows, head halo behind, flanked to one side by an attendant holding scroll and staff while at the other side is placed a rocky pedestal supporting a manuscript, large vase and tea-cup, the whole scene is placed under a tree and set in a mountainous landscape showing a waterfall, blossoming flowers and a pair of birds, in brocade mounting - Property from a South German private collection, acquired in Tibet and Nepal between 1975 and 1977 - Wear, minor damages due to age and water

The set is heavily tarnished and shows general wear in keeping with age, would benefit from a professional polish.
