Crepe de Chine (Green) - A Clarice Cliff Bon Jour early morning tea set circa 1933 transfer printed with stylised blooms and foliage picked out in tonal green and yellow over a pale celadon ground with green cafe au lait decorated handles, printed "Crepe de Chine" with bizarre mark. Condition - No chips, cracks or restoration, minor paint wear and some light crazing.
Red Trees & House - A Clarice Cliff twelve place conical tea service circa 1930 comprising twelve cups and saucers, large early shape milk jug, covered sugar and teapot all decorated in a stylised tree and cottage landscape with red and black banding Bizarre and Fantasque marks across the set. Condition - Teapot - Small chip to the upper edge of the body Sugar - Cover broken into three with a chip to the rim and re-glued, base lightly crazed Milk jug - No chips, cracks or restoration Cups - Two with small chips to the rim, two with faint hairlines to the rim, one with a chip to rim and piece broken from the body and re-glued, seven have no chips, cracks or restoration Saucers - Three have breaks and repairs to the rim, nine have no chips, cracks or restoration. [This service has travelled some distance having being consigned from Amsterdam. Originally given as a wedding present to the vendors mother its thought that the service could have been purchased from Meyjes & Howeler of Amsterdam. An original advert exists for the firm clearly showing a near identical service – ref "The Art of Bizarre" by Leonard Griffin.]
