A GROUP OF PLATED WARES (6)Comprising; twelve pairs of dessert or fruit knives and forks, having mother of pearl handles, with an oak Mappin & Webb case, a three piece dessert serving set, cased, a set of twelve teaspoons with an associated pair of plated sugar tongs, cased, a twin handled soda syphon stand decorated in the Art Nouveau taste and a pair of bottle coasters with turned wooden basesCondition Report: Fruit knife blades detailed Mappin & Webb, Sheffield, London. There is no key for the boxed tea knives and forks, this box would also benefit from a wax polish. The teaspoons are marked 'F.B EPNS', please note the sugar tongs are associated and do not match for design. The plating to all pieces is in good condition. The case to the spoons is in good condition. The soda syphen stand is in good condition, there is some water staining to the wood. One handle has been bent slightly upwards. The bottle coasters have some loss of polish as a result of water staining and would benefit from a wax polish. The decoration to the borders of the bottle coasters is a bit worn with soe denting to the underside of the rims. The three piece serving set is in good condition, just a few very fine hairline scratches.

A SET OF TWELVE STERLING TEA PLATES AND ONE FURTHER STERLING TEA PLATE (13)The set of twelve each engraved with the initial 'D', diameter 16cm, the further tea plate engraved with the initial 'M', diameter 15cm, combined weight 1,318gmsCondition Report: Where an item is marked sterling it implies that it is 925/1000 silver standard. However, if it does not bear a British import mark it is treated as foreign wares. It is likely that the dishes are American and that the marks 'STERLING' are reliable. The initial 'D' is to the rim of twelve plates, the initial 'N' is to the centre of the single plate. The plates show signs of use, there are some dents and minor surface scratching throughout.

The spout is pushed in at the top, into the body of the teapot. The handle rivets are wobbly. There is a split to the finial of the lid. There are a few scratches to the underside. The finial is slightly loose and does not screw well into position. Hot water jug: There are a few dents to the body. The finial is out of alignment. There is a dent to the front below the spout. Sugar Bowl: In good conditionMilk jug: In good conditionAll pieces would benefit from a clean and polish. There is universal scratching to the undersides commensurate with wear.

By Roberts & Belk, Sheffield England.The knives, the carving implements, the fish eaters and servers having pistol grip style handles. The remaining spoons and forks in a stylised Onslow pattern design with a two drawer fitted canteen cabinet. Condition Report: We can confirm that the twelve pistol grip handled forks are fish forks. Please note that one pistol grip knife and one Onslow pattern dessert spoon are missing. Estimated age: last quarter of the 20th century. Overall condition is good, the knife blades are detailed Asprey Bond Street. There are a few water stains to the top of the box.
