A 19th century Dresden-style children's porcelain dolls' tea set, comprising a coffee jug, water jug, four cups, four saucers and a lidded caddy, on matching tray, each decorated with pink and blue panels depicting groups of figures in the Watteau style, with gilt borders and scroll and feather decoration, with crossed swords mark to undersides, length of tray, 22cm, diameter 16cm, diameter of saucers approx 7.3cm, height of tallest teapot approx 9cm, together with an early 19th century Davenport miniature vase painted with pink roses, gilt leaves and trim and a small similar patterned tea bowl. CONDITION REPORT Some chips, cracks, grazes, some wear to the decoration, etc. There is fading to the decoration and wear to all of the items. There are some edge nibbles and tiny chips. The Davenport tea bowl has three big chips and cracks. The side of the caddy/lidded sugar dish has been repaired.

EDWARD ASKEW (1836-1926), SERGEANT IN THE HAWKSHEAD COMPANY OF THE TENTH LANCASHIRE RIFLE VOLUNTEERS; a quantity of military and other items relating to Edward Askew, to include his red sergeant's tunic with sewn-on cloth patches, stripes, lion badges to the collar, white leather belt and helmet with helmet badge 'Royal Lancaster First Volunteer Battalion', also a Queen Victoria Military Long Service silver medal, with a note stating it was presented in 1895 in Mrs Clegg's Field, Ulverston, a card which was presented to Sergeant Askew by Lieutenant Colonel Massey Westropp for his long service, a three-piece silver plated tea service presented to Edward Askew from William Heelis in 1879, for being a faithful servant for twenty-one years, with hand painted plaque, a reproduction photograph depicting solicitor W Heelis with his family at Highfield, Hawkshead in the 1870s, print-outs relating to Edward Askew and a book titled 'The Tale of Mrs William Heelis - Mrs Beatrix Potter' by John Heelis, which mentions Edward Askew and the silver plated tea set awarded to him, also a black and white photograph of Edward Askew in 1879.Footnote: Sergeant Edward Askew was a coachman for William Heelis, who later went on to marry Beatrix Potter.
