An Art Deco period Shelley 'J' pattern, 'Vogue' shape, tea set comprising five teacups, five saucers, six side plates, a cake/sandwich plate, a cream jug and a sugar bowl, having printed marks Rd. 756533 and painted numerals 11739 to base.Condition report: Lot 939Generally, noticeable discolouration throughout (please refer to photographs). The two most stained cups are crazed throughout, the others have stained areas and crazing to their foot rims and bases - one of these also has a hairline crack visible to its interior (rim). Three saucers have hairlines, one saucer is particularly badly stained and there is an area of paint loss to the orange border, all are crazed. All six side plates have hairlines and crazing. The cream jug has a hairline to its foot rim. The sugar bowl has vertical hairlines and further hairlines to its base. The cake plate has hairlines and crazing.
