An Art Deco three piece tea set by Baltensperger, c.1930, stamped 925, together with a matched coffee pot by the same maker, the set comprising a teapot, sugar and milk jug, of shaped lobed form, the teapot and sugar with figural finials, the coffee pot of matching lobed form with corn finial to hinged lid, coffee pot approx. 22.5cm high, teapot approx. 13.5cm high, total weight approx. 64.5oz (4)Note: In 1925, Walter Baltensperger created designs for the Paris International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts. Baltensperger was founded in 1878 by Jean Baltensperger, who handed the business over to his sons Walter (1885-1931) and Ernst (1880-1946). They had a prestigious shop on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich. Ernst left the business in 1918 but returned after the death of Walter in 1931. Ernst's son Pierre took over the business in 1950 and became one of Switzerland's most important sculptors.

A four piece Victorian silver tea set, London, 1860, Robert Hennell III, in fitted Hunt & Roskell wooden box, the set comprising a baluster-shaped coffee pot, teapot, sugar and cream jug, chased and cast with elaborate foliate designs against a textured ground and designed with foliate-mounted double scroll handles, the tea and coffee pots with cast figural finials, all four pieces raised on four foliate-shouldered scroll feet and applied with engraved cartouches, one with monogram, the other with crest and the motto 'virtute et fortuna', teapot approx. 19.5cm high, coffee pot approx. 26cm high, total weight approx. 85.2oz (4) Ivory submission reference: SCJMP47CCondition Report: The tea set is in good condition commensurate with age. Some minor surface scratching and nicking noted to all pieces. All hallmarks clear. Front legs of teapot pushing in slightly. Discolouration to ivory insulators. Some very minor dings noted. Some fading to gilding on interior of milk and sugar. A small amount of inconspicuous solder to handles of sugar and jug at joins with rim (possibly repairs or may be from manufacturing process). Both finials with maker's mark for Robert Hennell III. Hinges in good condition and covers to pots open and close cleanly. Decoration is crisp to all. Box is in good overall condition. However, one handle is deficient and there is some marking to felt lined interior. The exterior has been applied with various labels and wax seals. Some general scratching and marking to box. Hinges in good condition. No key. Overall a very nice set in good condition.
