A SET OF THREE MID 18TH CENTURY SILVER LIDDED FACET CUT GLASS TEA CADDIES, the central box form, the cover engraved with full armorial, the flanking caddies with circular crested lids, stamped JW (possibly James Wilk c.1750) housed in a later Victorian burr oak caddy box, 30.5cm wideCondition report – The case – splits and wear to veneer, brass banding on lid lifting, front left, the inlaid ‘star’ cartouche is loose and inside box, discolouration to velvet within lid, and lining of the box. Central Glass – silver sild box both glass and lid in good condition, has bubble inclusions, wear. Left caddy – Small solder repair inside the lid. Glass bubble inclusions, wear, and some bruising to the glass. Right caddy – The collar is detached, revealing broken neck, to caddy bubble inclusions and wear to glass, bruises to sharp edges, scratches to glass, the cover is okay.
