GASTINNE RENETTE A PARIS' (rubbed and faint), scroll engraving to muzzle and breech, dove-tailed fore-sight bead, applied standing notch rear-sight to the shaped borderline and scroll engraved top-tang, moulded and fenced nipple-boss, borderline and scroll engraved hump-backed lock (strong traces of colour) signed on the bar 'GASTINNE RENETTE', engraved hammer with faceted nose, walnut half-stock with chequered grip, flared and domed moulded iron butt-cap with central 'tea-cosy' pommel-button (traces of colour), engraved and blued spurred trigger-guard bow, plain trigger, further engraving to the inlet iron fore-end tip and no provision for ramrod, together with an oak case, repurposed for this pistol and lined and compartmented in ribbed green material in the Continental fashion and containing a loading mallet, bullet mould with sprue-cutter, loading and cleaning rods, a powder measure and grease and nipple pots, the inside of lid with re-applied green material 'Gastinne Renette' trade label.
