Harris and Sons Ltd, 1913, 18cm.; 13oz; with an Edwardian tea caddy of drum shape with raised pull-off cover, by William Naylor, Chester 1905, 9cm.; 4oz; and a cased set of twelve bright cut Old English pattern teaspoons and tongs, by Aldwinckle and Slater, 1883, 4oz (3)
A George III mahogany foldover tea table, the rectangular hinged top above a single drawer raised on square tapering legs 94cm wide, 73cm high. Provenance; The Dukes of Hamilton, Lennoxlove House, Haddington, East Lothian. Hamilton in 1946 and an extensive programme of redecoration was later initiated under aegis of John Fowler. It is thus probable that this lot was moved into Lennoxlove after 1946 and may have originally been at Hamilton Palace. The lot is sold on behalf of The Lennoxlove Trust, a registered charity set up to provide funds for the preservation of the fabric of this historic place; three tapestries towards this fund were sold in these rooms on 5th December last year.
