Late 18th/early 19th century New Hall English porcelain tea set, pattern no. 243, with twist fluting and blue and gilt decoration, comprising: teapot; twin handled oval sucrier; slop bowl; cream jug; spoon tray; two cake plates and twelve tea bowls, coffee cups and saucers.Condition -Teapot: Very fine 1" hair crack to interior. Thickened glaze to exterior with fine crack running through glaze, not visible to interior.Covered sucrier: Small under gilt rim chip to lid. Some glaze impurities and slight wear to gilding, otherwise good.Cream jug: Good condition. Slight glaze impurities.Slop bowl: Slight rubbing to gilt rim, scratches and glaze impurities to interior, otherwise good condition.Spoon tray: Very slight scratches and rubbing to gilt with glaze impurities, otherwise good condition.Two cake plates: 21cm and 19.5cm, both in good condition with only very slight scratches and glaze impurities.Coffee cups: All generally in good condition with slight glaze impurities, one has very tiny firing crack to rim, another has a tiny firing crack to foot rim.Tea bowls: Four in good condition and ring when tapped. Three with very slight discoloured crazing but no other visible defects but do not ring when tapped. Four with visible fine hair cracks to rim and one with V shaped chip and hair crack.Saucers: Two have slight wear and rubbing to gilt, ring when tapped. Eight with no visible chips or cracks but slight discolouration to bodies, do not ring when tapped. Two with very fine hair cracks to rim.
