General wear throughout, consistent with age and use. Basin: No signs of restoration, major cracks, chips, or losses. Minute firing flaws and general wear throughout, consistent with age. Fading and some losses to the painted decoration. Heavy losses to the gilt decoration. Wear to the footrim.

Chinese Kangxi 18th century famille verte porcelain plate. Decorated in the center with a scene of a figure riding a horse outside of a palace, possibly derived from "The Romance of the Western Chamber (Xixiangji)." The rim painted with four floral cartouches alternating with precious objects tied with ribbons. The underside of the rim painted with floral sprigs. Marked along the underside with an underglaze blue double circle and an apocryphal pictorial mark of a "fangding" ritual censer.Provenance: The Oriental Impression, Ltd., St. Louis, Missouri, 1984; From the Estate of C. Curtis "Curt" Dunnavan, Long Lake, Minnesota.C. Curtis "Curt" Dunnavan (1926-2022) was a passionate world traveler and avid collector. It was through his travels that he was inspired to begin a lifelong relationship with the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia), becoming a major sponsor of the institute and facilitating the growth of their Asian art department, which is now one of the best in the country. His generous donations to Mia allowed them to establish a fund for the Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer, one of the few endowed positions of this type in the museum field. He additionally served as a trustee of the institute, advocating for its operational growth. In its turn, the museum established a gallery named in his honor in recognition for his endowment fund and numerous contributions to their collection. The selections here showcase his talent and breadth of collecting, ranging from ancient statues to 19th-century woodblock prints. His appreciation for art persisted throughout his life and we are honored to offer items from his collection in this auction.Diameter: 9 in.Condition: No visible losses. There is a hairline crack along the lower right rim, extending from the center that measures approximately 2 inches. There is a minute chip underneath the lower left rim. A saucer dish with similar decoration and mark was sold in these rooms 25 July 2014, lot 141Some slight chipping and heavy glaze frits to the rim. Very minor flakes to the foot. Some minor glaze cracks to inside and out. The bowl rings when tapped. No restoration. Glaze rich with some minor scratches and wear.

The Kangxi saucer has firing faults and very minor rim nicks. The famille rose pieces are free from faults.
A pair of Chinese blue and white Kangxi style porcelain baluster vases, decorated with scholars and courtesans in gardens, 29.5cm and 30cm high; together another imari style paintbrush with blue vines and red flowers, 16cm high, and a red and blue flambe dish with a small indented shape, 16cm diameter (4)The two baluster vases with markings and fading to the glaze. One with chipping to the underside of the rim and scratches and markings to the surface. The brush pot with large fracture line running through the side and base and minor chipping throughout. The flambe dish is in good overall condition.

With a dome toped cover, and with a double circle mark to the base. 44cms high. *Condition: Lid, a large chip and smaller chips to the rim, small firing crack to the underside of the lid. Jar, generally good, there is a crack on the inside probably from manufacture (about 10cms long, visible inside, barely visible outside), otherwise seems generally fine.

With a more modern wooden lid and stand, jar 18cms high. *Condition: No chips or restoration, some small firing cracks from manufacture which are visible inside including a star crack.
