A section of a Chinese gu vase, 18th c, painted in underglaze blue with deities and sages within hexafoil reserves, diaper ground, 24.5cm h, Kangxi artemisia leaf but probably later, a fragmentary bottle vase, 18th/19th c, polychrome cranes and scrolling clouds on a white ground, turquoise interior, 15cm h, six-character Yongzheng mark within concentric circles, a circular plate, early-mid 18th c, painted with pheasants and flowering foliage on a rocky outcrop in underglaze blue, picked out in iron red and gilt, 22.5cm diam, two pieces of Canton famille rose, c. 1860, (5) The vase section with associated rim repairs and having being grounded following break. Its foot chipped with resulting loss of foot rim section. The bottle vase broken, lacking all above the shoulder. The circular plate with rim chips and two stained hairline cracks. Ditto Canton plate. The Canton cup handle riveted repair. Each piece with expected pitting and surface wear.

A Chinese blue and white ‘landscape’ brushpot, bitong, Kangxi period, painted to rectangular reserves with scholars in a mountainous river landscape scene, the reverse with birds seated on a prunus branch above rocks, unglazed ring to base, 17.8cm diameter, 15.2cm high, fritting to edges***CONDITION REPORT***The rim has fritting and tiny glaze losses around the inner and outer edges, there is also an overglaze manufacturing imperfection to the inside of the rim which measures 30mm wide x 14mm high. Typical pitting to the glaze on the interior, some scuffing and scratching consistent with age and use to the glaze on the exterior, glaze losses and fritting around the edge of the foot, wear to the glaze on the edge of the base consistent with age and use. A Chinese blue and white inscribed ‘Ode to the Red Cliff’ bowl, Kangxi period, painted with Su Shi and his scholarly friends looking toward the Red Cliff across a channel of water, the moon above them, the reverse inscribed ‘Chibifu’ (for the poem Qian Chibifu by Su Shi (1037-1101) with a thirty one column version of the poem Ode to the Red Cliff, the interior painted with ‘fu’, birds, rabbits, cliffs, celestial star formations, an axe and other motifs, emblematic of good luck, longevity and safe travel, the base with six character mark ‘Qi yu bao ding zhi zhen’ (Precious as a treasured ding of rare jade), 15.7cm diameter, 7.5cm high***CONDITION REPORT***There is a small 4mm x 2mm glaze chip to the rim, an over glazed splinter chip to the inside of the foot, another firing indentation to the inside of the foot, other glaze imperfections to the underside of the bowl next to the foot.
