A late 19th century Chinese porcelain vase of baluster form with cylindrical ribbed neck, painted in underglaze blue with two confronting dragons flanking a blossoming chrysanthemum on foliate ground, with Greek key ornament to the top rim, with Kangxi four character mark to base, height 35cm. CONDITION REPORT: Several chips to the rim, otherwise OK. See additional images. Postage to a UK address is £18 plus VAT.
A pair of 19th century Chinese porcelain sleeve vases painted in underglaze blue with two opposing panels depicting a chrysanthemum in a vase on jardinière stand, with fruit and scrolls in the background, on blue blossoming prunus decorated ground, each bearing a Kangxi mark to base, height 26cm. CONDITION REPORT: One of the vases has got a chip to the rim, approx 1cm. The other vase has a larger chip along the rim approx 3.5cm. Both have staining to the surface and some areas of firing imperfections.
A Chinese porcelain cup with cover and saucer, each piece painted in underglaze blue with a couple on a boat with vases, with a bird in flight above and with a house on the cloud, diameter of saucer 13cm, bearing Kangxi peach symbol mark, diameter 9cm. CONDITION REPORT: Saucer has a chip to the rim and two small hairlines spreading from the edge. The cover has some nibbles to the edge of the rim and a single small hairline crack to the bowl, Traces of wear to the rim and to the base.
A pair of 19th century Chinese baluster vases, painted in underglaze blue with architectural landscape, height 30cm, and a further vase painted with figural terrace scene within two decorative bands, height 25cm, all bearing Kangxi four character mark to bases (af) (3). CONDITION REPORT: One of vases from the pair has a chip to the flared rim and a hairline spreading from it, approx 6cm, the other has an imperfection underneath the rim. The single vase has a large reglued crack to the cylindrical rim and a major star hairline crack to the glaze to one side of the body.
A late 19th/early 20th century purple monochrome glazed bowl, with Kangxi six character mark to base within double circle, and a further sang-de-boeuf glazed example with Kangxi four character double circle mark to the base, diameter of both 11cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Both appear to be in generally good condition. The purple example has an underglaze imperfection to the edge of the rim. The other has areas of surface scratches.
PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY CHINESE PORCELAIN BALUSTER SHAPED GINGER JARS AND COVERS in Kangxi style, decorated with reserved panels of birds amongst foliage on an overall blue scaled ground with prunus blossom. Covers with similar decoration. Underglaze concentric circle marks to bases. 26cm high approx. (2) CONDITION REPORT: One appearing good with only minor surface wear and odd nicks in places, the other has a badly broken cover which has been very basically stuck back together, the body of the vase has a chip and two extending hair cracks from the neck.
PAIR OF YELLOW GROUND, CHINESE PORCELAIN, BALUSTER SHAPED VASES, with cylinder necks and flared bases, overall decorated with incised, reserved, white ground figures within landscapes with prunus blossom between geometric and foliate bands. The bases with six character, Kangxi underglazed blued Nian Hao. (2) 24cm high. CONDITION REPORT: One has firing blemish to inner neck, both have surface wear commensurate with age but no evident damage, restoration or losses.
A RARE CHINESE LACQUE BURGAUTE PORCELAIN BITONG, KANGXI 1662-1722 The cylindrical body decorated to the exterior with black lacquer, inlaid with mother of pearl depicting a scholar in a bamboo grove, accompanied by an attendant carrying a qin, with the sun amidst clouds above, 12cm. A LARGE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE DISH, KANGXI 1662-1722 The well with a central convex roundel painted with a gnarled prunus tree, an incense burner and a scroll, encircled by lotus, chrysanthemum, poeny and pomegranate emerging from rocks and waves, the rim with a band of mountainous pagoda scenes, with fishermen and other figures, 35.6cm.
