Over-painted crudely. Some surface scratches. Lid with several cracks and one fretwork section broken away. The lid doesn't fit the bowl.

The vase painted with chasing dragon amongst cloud scroll with bats, approx 20 cms, bearing Kangxi marks to base.Originally purchased from the 5 day Christies Sale of Ronald Summerfield's Effects at Cheltenham Racecourse. Mr Summerfield was a well-regarded collector of antiques who amassed an extensive collection is his life-time.
A Chinese peach bloom ground vase, 20th century, of ovoid form, with pseudo six character Kangxi marks to the underside, height 9 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This is of recent manufacture and certainly not of the period or even 19th century. The peach bloom glaze is not uniformed throughout and is stronger around the base and is much lighter around the top rim. Using a high powered torch one can see that there are a few very light surface scratches to the body but nothing that is visible to the naked eye. There are no obvious chips, cracks or restorations visible.
