(6)All items in good overall condition without signs of damage or repair.
TWO CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN DISHES, 18TH CENTURY. One famille rose decorated with horses, Yongzheng period (1722-35). The other famille verte and gilt decorated with tree and foliage, Kangxi period (1662-1722). 22cm diam. (2) Yongzheng dish stained yellow from repair, no chips. Kangxi dish with no chips or signs of repair, three hairlines from rim to note.
THREE CHINESE PORCELAIN BOWLS, 18/19TH CENTURY. To include a Qianlong famille rose export porcelain punch bowl decorated with figures in courtyard scene, a Canton bowl decorated with figures and a celadon and black ground bowl decorated with prunus decoration and four-character Kangxi mark to base. Punch bowl 26cm diam. (3)Punch bowl with staple repair and hairlines. Canton bowl with chip and section of glued repair. Slight chip to celadon bowl with no signs of repair.

Two shallow chips and hairline to cover which may not be original to vase.

A large Chinese famille rose baluster vase: finely enamelled with four birds perched on a gnarled blossoming prunus tree on a pale turquoise ground, the tree trunk with four apocryphal six-character Kangxi seal marks, the base with underglaze blue double circles, Republic/20th century, 62cm and wood stand.* Provenance Herbert Sutton [1880-1946] and thence by family descent.Herbert Sutton was born at Thame, Oxfordshire and educated in France, Germany and Grantham, England. At eighteen years of age he joined his father who was in business in Hong Kong. After two years he joined a firm of silk traders at Canton and became it's head during twenty five years of service. For three successive years he was chairman of the Municipal Council of the British Concession at Canton and had to shoulder considerable responsibility during the 1914-18 war. One of his tasks was to close a German bank when China entered the war on the side of the allies. He retired to Great Yarmouth, Norfolk in the late 1920s and served as a member of the Town Council for sixteen years.
