FOUR CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE VESSELS KANGXI 1662-1722 Comprising: a rose water sprinkler, a vase with two dragon head handles and loose rings, and two pear-shaped ewers with heart-shaped panels reserved on a cracked-ice ground, one with a circular paper label for Hancock, the other for the BADA Art Treasures Exhibition 1932, 19.5cm. (4) Provenance: formerly the property of a titled English collector. Exhibited at The BADA Art Treasures Exhibition in 1932, Christie, Manson & Wood, 12th October - 5th November, catalogue no.1014.

A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE 'DRAGON' BOWL KANGXI 1622-1722 Painted to the exterior with three dragons in pursuit of sacred pearls of wisdom amongst wisps of fire above stylised waves, and beneath sprays of aquatic plans to the everted rim. The interior with a roundel with a carp rising from crashing waves, a chilong issuing from its mouth, a band of prunus flowers and crested waves to the rim, a single square fu mark and circular paper label for Geoffrey Waters to the base, 21.5cm. Provenance: the property of Professor Geraldine Kenney-Wallace, RSC, FInstP.
A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE JAR AND COVER KANGXI 1662-1722 With an ovoid body painted with three flower-shaped panels with the 'Hundred Antiques' reserved on a prunus and cracked-ice ground, 22.5cm. (2) Provenance: purchased from Long Koo Tsar, Shanghai on 12th December 1936 for $25 by John Wallace Davidson, C M G, British Council General in Shanghai and thence by descent.

Provenance: from the Victor Remacker collection, purchased from Marchant in 1954 for £6.
TWO CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE PLATES KANGXI 1662-1722 Painted with pheasants perched on rockwork by fences among colourful peonies, the shaped rims with sprays of prunus and peony blossoms, together with a bowl and cover painted with rocks and flower sprays, 26.5cm. (4) Provenance: from the collection of Professor J Norman Collie, FRS (1859-1942) and thence by descent.
A CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE DISH KANGXI 1662-1722 Painted with the scene of Jiang Zi Ya fishing and visited by King Wen, the border with panels of precious objects and decorative patterns, the base with a label for the Stenbeck collection, 34.5cm. Jiang Zi Ya was a military strategist and official at the court of the last king of the Shang dynasty (16th-11th century BC). Dissatisfied with the cruel ruler he retreated to the country waiting for a more just candidate for the throne to serve. King Wen found the old man by a river fishing without a hook. When asked the reason for this unusual behaviour, Jang Zi Ya replied that like fish, when people are ready to find you, they will come to you of their own volition.

Enamel wear and surface scratches. Pitted. Chips to the foot rim. Fritting visible. Blue & White- Four very small nicks to the rim. Foot rim chipped. Pitted underside. Surface stains and scratching. Celadon plates- Hairline cracks, chips, grazes and surface abrasions visible throughout.

Surface scratches including stained scuffs and blemishes. Stained sections to exterior and interior. Firing crack running around the base to interior. Unglazed nibbled foot rim. No obvious cracks or large chips. Hardwood cover with losses and damage.

CONDITION REPORT: Generally in good condition with only one nibble to edge of base and area of fritting to one of the panels, general firing imperfections such as pitting (black dots). No paperwork from Sotheby's.

CONDITION REPORT: Generally in good condition with no obvious traces of damage or restoration, general wear surface wear commensurate with age such as minor scratches and dirt, numerous manufacturing imperfections such as pitting, cover has been broken in several pieces and crudely reglued. Height including base and cover is 25cm.

CONDITION REPORT: A large area of manufacturing imperfections - a major horizontal crack to lower part running across half of the main body. Fritting and shallow chips to edge of the base, general minor wear, no obvious damage or restoration.

CONDITION REPORT: Generally in good condition only with areas of dirt and surface wear to the inside particularly around both rims, both pieces with some firing imperfections, the base with a chip to inside of the rim or possibly a manufacturing imperfection, a few nibbles to the outside of the rim, some staining to the insides and to the base.

CONDITION REPORT: The cover with no obvious traces of damage or restoration, apart from minor fritting to inside edge of rim, with some staining to the underneath, the base with numerous areas of nibbling to the upper rim and with three areas of manufacturing imperfections to inside of the base rim, also some dirt to the edge including residues of red paste.

CONDITION REPORT: Very small area of fritting to rim and foot, small firing imperfection to glaze.

CONDITION REPORT: Numerous areas of nibbles to underneath of the rim, rubbing to the glaze of the edge, few chips/nibbles visible to the upper part of the rim, chips, nibbles and firing imperfections to the edge of the foot, surface wear and minor dirt, also an area of large bubble burst which has been later overpainted to the right side of the scene, rings true, with vendors stock number to the base.

A Chinese Kangxi period porcelain double gourd vase with raised neck and domed foot, painted in underglaze blue with four floral panels on floral and foliate scroll ground within similarly decorated bands, unmarked, height 24cm, with base metal mounts (reduced in height and af). CONDITION REPORT: The neck of the vase appears to have been much taller but has been broken and filed, with areas of crude restoration and with metal mounts covering the filing, fritting and areas of chips along the raised parts of the base of the neck and above the foot. Chip to the lower rim of the foot, minor firing imperfections, otherwise OK.
