A mixed lot of Oriental porcelain: including a pair of Chinese blue and white soft paste small circular boxes and covers, six-character Kangxi marks, 7cm diameter; a Chinese famille rose hexagonal lantern base painted with peonies, 12cm wide; a Chinese square box and cover painted with a lady in a garden, 7cm on wood stand; and a Japanese Imari wall pocket in the form of a vase supported by two boys, 19cm [5]..
A group of Chinese porcelain, comprising a floral decorated Chinese Imari bowl decorated with flowers, a twin mouthed sauce boat with ear handles decorated in blue and white with flower sprays and diaper borders, possibly 18thC; a blue and white bowl of tapering form, 15cm diameter; a Kangxi style blue and white bowl decorated with flowers with an outer Greek key pattern border and spurious Kangxi six character seal mark, and two tea bowls enamelled with flowers in famille rose palette, probably 18thC. (a quantity) The sauce boat has restoration on one of the handles, the blue and white externally patterned bowl has two firing faults to the interior, the blue and white bowl with blue exterior has a small amount of nibbling to the rim and there is a hairline crack running approximately 3 inches from the outer circumference, the blue/red/gold bowl again has minor rim nibbling, but appears to be otherwise in good order on initial inspection.
A Chinese porcelain blue and white porcelain tea canister, decorated with shaped panels of figures, buildings, trees and mountains, with floral spandrels, six character Kangxi mark to one side, probably 20thC, 28cm high. On initial inspection there is a small crack to the edge of the top rim, possibly in the firing.

A mixed group of ceramics, including a Worcester transfer decorated Fisherman and Cormorant pattern tea bowl with crescent mark to base, diameter 7.4cm, an 18th century Chinese Kangxi period saucer with grasshopper within double ring mark to base, diameter 11.2cm (af), a 19th century saucer and three tea bowls and further later blue and white decorative ceramics, including two figures, one depicting lady wearing hat, height 24.5cm, also a large foliate decorated green glass dish and two coloured wine glasses.Additional Information18th century Chinese saucer with chip to rim, the other saucer staple repaired, so af. Tea bowls with some fritting, one with chip and crack, Worcester tea bowl again with some glaze losses and nibbles to the rim, further wear throughout. Too many items to further individualise, the figure of the lady has lost a finger, assume some further losses to apendages and/or moulded foliage.

A Chinese porcelain famille verte vase, Qing Dynasty, 19th century, of tapering cylindrical form, decorated in Kangxi style with an interior scene featuring the figures Fu, Lu and Shou, unmarked, a/f neck ground down, 18 by 34cm high.The top rim has been ground down, and with chips throughout.
An eighteenth century Worcester hand-painted in blue porcelain part dessert service, 1775. Each piece is decorated in the Kangxi Lotus pattern to include: an open-work basket with flowerhead decoration, two tureens, covers, stands and ladles, four kidney-shaped dishes, three circular dishes in two sizes, two oval dessert dishes and a further large serving dish. (14)Condition: One dessert dish cracked and glued, the other with a foot rim chip, small rim chip to one of the oval dishes, small foot rim chip to the circular plate.

A Chinese blue and white 'sage and phoenix' dish, Kangxi period, painted with the seated figure of a sage with an attendant on a rocky precipice with two phoenix flying above, diaper and floral borders, the base with lingzhi sprig within a double circle, 20.8cm diameterCONDITION: There are a few glaze flakes around the rim and minor scratching to the glaze otherwise in good condition.
A pair of Chinese powder blue famille verte bottle vases, Kangxi period (1662-1722), each painted to shaped reserves with insects, foliage and rockwork, underglaze blue double circles to the base, 26cm highCONDITION: One vase has a splinter chip to the outside edge of the rim and some hairline cracks which are slightly stained on the interior but more difficult to see on the exterior, both vases with typical minor glaze imperfections and some scratching to the glaze consistent with age.
A Chinese famille noire enamelled biscuit baluster vase and cover, 19th century, decorated in Kangxi style with panels of blossoming branches and rockwork, 47cm highCONDITION: There is a crack to the neck which has some restoration to that immediate area on the inside of the neck and the crack is visible on the exterior, otherwise in reasonable condition with no chips and minor scratching detected.
A Chinese bamboo wrist rest, Kangxi period, carved in relief with a horse, pine and rock to a roundel and incised with a three column calligraphic inscription, warm caramel brown patina, 24cm high. Provenance - Dr J W H Grice (1891-1976) collection, label no.37. This wrist rest is illustrated in Dr Grice's article 'Chinese Bamboo Carving' in Country Life magazine in 1954.CONDITION: Small old splinter to the two top corners and to the bottom edge with patina to the areas.Provenance - Dr John William Hawksley Grice (1891-1976) is regarded as a very important collector of carving in Britain; at the time he was collecting, he appears to have been unique among his peers for admiring Qing dynasty carvings. He wrote about 'Chinese Bamboo Carving' in Country Life in 1954, one of the first articles in English on the subject, and at the time he was collecting he appears to have been unique among his peers for admiring late carving. Dr Grice and his wife Kathleen moved to China in 1922 and he worked as a doctor in Tianjin for 30 years. He built his ivory and bamboo collection in China in the decades he spent there before leaving in 1952. He gave a sizeable proportion of his carved bamboo collection to London's Victoria and Albert Museum and donated other ivories and bamboo to the British Museum.
