A Persian Qajar underglaze painted moulded pottery tile, probably 19th century, painted in polychrome with a court scene of a princely figure surrounded by courtiers enjoying a feast, a border of stylised flowers within shaped panels, 11¼ x 11½in. (28.6 x 29.2cm.), broken and repaired, in a modern frame. * Condition: Repaired vertical break through centre of tile, with a few small filled glaze chips along the break. Some glaze crazing elsewhere. Extremities of the tile not examined as they are covered by the frame.
A set of twelve Dutch Delft blue and white tiles, probably 17th century, the tiles with central fields with roundels depicting Biblical scenes, with stylised floral design at corners, each tile approximately 5in. square and 8mm. thick. a/f.
