Kashan, Ca. 1100-1200 AD A rectangular-shaped pottery tile with ochre ground decorated with a central motif of pale blue mihrab - the niche in a mosque indicating the direction of Mecca which worshipers should face when praying and navy glazed calligraphy all in relief. This tile, which would have originally been one of a series of tiles running along the wall of a building, is a testament to the technical skills of Seljuk craftsmen. A 33cm tall teddy bear in the white and blue Delfter colours. With a squeaker voice and stitched nose this bear is wearing a white lace clerk's collar and carrying a tile with the words "Holland 1996". The white ear tag is consecutively numbered and the bear comes with a ribboned scroll of authenticity.
