Medley in Illustrated Catalogue of Ming Polychrome Wares, London, 1978, pl. IV, no. 35, where it is dated Ming, 16th century, registration number PDF.703; Another one is in the Victoria and Albert Museum, dated to the Ming dynasty, Jiajing period, accession number C.760-1925; Also compare to a similar tile, dated to Zhengde-Jiajing period, sold at Christie's New York, 20 Sep 2024, lot 1044.

Damascus pottery tileSyria, late 16th/17th Centuryset in a later Damascus star design table, with mother-of-pearl and bone inlay. The tile is decorated in cobalt blue, light blue and green on a white ground with a design of palmettes, arabesques, tulips and stylised lotus flowers, the tile is 27.5cm square and the table is 53cm wide x 52.5cm highProvenance: a Gloucestershire estate The tile is inset and has not been removed. There is some visible wear to the border that is visible, some loose to the glaze and some discolouring consistent with its age and use. The table has some wear and a loose foot. Another foot is missing but it still stands well.
