Quentin Bell (1910-1996), three pottery portrait square tiles, 1980s/1990s, the largest incised and painted in black with a half length portrait of a woman seated at a table, on an H & A Smith tile, inscribed mark verso, 15cm, the second with a nude of a woman holding a red robe on a blue background, inscribed mark the soul, 14cm, the smallest a Fulham pottery tile incised with a portrait of a woman in cream within an ochre scroll incised border, incised ‘bottle kiln’ mark in a seal ‘Fulham Pottery Quentin Bell’, 9.7cm (3) The largest tile has a small chip to the top right corner, otherwise the others are in good condition with typical minor manufacturing imperfections.PLEASE NOTE:- Prospective buyers are strongly advised to examine personally any goods in which they are interested BEFORE the auction takes place. A late 19th century Aesthetic Movement dressing table With an Italian Majolica inset tile to the top and an inlaid geometric border, the hinged lid opening to reveal a mirrored back and a sliding drawer with a cubby, raised on tapered fluted legs united by a shaped stretcher with a central urn-shaped knop.59cm wide x 41cm deep x 72cm highQty: 1Some scratching, scuffing, and surface dirt to the inset tile. Ring marks and damage to the varnish on the top. Slight play in the joints. A piece of brass moulding around the inset interior is missing down the left-hand side. The brass mounts are coming slightly loose around the feet.

† Attributed to BERNARD LEACH (1887-1979) for Leach Pottery; a square stoneware tile covered in pale grey glaze, washed in cobalt to two edges and decorated with flowers, painted pottery mark, 10 x 10cm. Condition Report: Chips to two edges and one corner, otherwise appears good with no further signs of faults, damage or restorations.
AN EARLY-20th CENTURY NATIONAL CASH REGISTER SHOP TILL Of ornately cast copper construction, set upon a wooden plinth base, serial no. 1363678, measuring approx. 43cm high x 29cm wide x 41cm deep Condition Report:"Please note that we are unable to guarantee the functionality of any mechanical item. Currently, when the keys are depressed, the corresponding flag will rise, the bell will ring and the drawer will pop open. One key has a tendency to jam.The tile shelf is loose and chipped to one corner. Chips similarly to glass. Overall wear and patination. Upper lefthand keys with heavy wear. Splashes of candle wax, paint etc. to exterior. One metal cap for the glazed display is broken, with losses."

Probably late 17th century, painted in polychrome colours with a trumpeting female figure, inscribed Typographia, probably a wall decoration of a printing workshop, 41X13.5cm, ebonised frame.The measurements listed are for the tile, the framed dimensions are 44.5X17cm.We have not removed the panel from the frame, additional images are now online.There has been a break across the middle, with a chip, a glued chip and various nibbles around the edge.
