**Mid-20th Century Tin-Fronted Dolls' House with Furniture**This is a vintage tin-fronted dolls' house, likely British in origin, dating from the 1940s–1960s. The house features a white-painted facade with lithographed details, including blue-framed windows, a red door, and a brownish-red pitched roof with a textured tile pattern. It stands on a green-painted base and includes decorative elements such as printed curtains and floral patterns. The facade opens on hinges to reveal an interior with four rooms, varying wallpapers, and printed flooring, characteristic of mid-century style. The house comes with a collection of miniature furniture stored in clear resealable bags. Pieces include wooden and plastic items such as beds, chairs, tables, and yellow bathroom fixtures. The furniture reflects mid-20th-century design trends, likely scaled at 1:12, and appears to complement the overall period and craftsmanship of the house.
Decorative Delft-Style Ceramic Tile with Pastoral Scene This square glazed ceramic tile, measuring approximately 15 cm x 15 cm, features a raised relief design with a pastoral scene. The foreground depicts a woman in traditional European attire, including a blue skirt and white blouse with a kerchief, carrying two buckets. She is accompanied by a black-and-white cow grazing on grassy terrain. The background shows rural structures, including a red barn, a peaked-roof farmhouse, and a windmill, surrounded by trees and a cloudy sky. Framed by a brown ceramic border and designed for wall hanging with a black cord, the tile bears the embossed markings "Delft" in cursive script and "FRIESLAND" in block capitals on the reverse. These inscriptions suggest it originates from Friesland, a Dutch region known for Delft-style pottery. Produced in the mid-20th century, this decorative tile reflects the Dutch cultural and artistic heritage often associated with Delftware.
Miniature Chinese Folding Tabletop Screen A decorative four-panel folding tabletop screen, likely of Chinese origin. Each panel features a hand-painted ceramic or porcelain tile set within a light-toned wooden frame, connected by brass hinges. The frames include pierced fretwork designs at the top and bottom, with darker-toned openwork detailing at the base adding to its craftsmanship. The painted porcelain tiles depict traditional Chinese scenes, carefully rendered with delicate brushstrokes. These include landscapes showcasing mountains, trees, rivers, bridges, and pavilions in soft tones alongside female figures in vibrant traditional attire engaging in cultural activities such as playing a pipa (lute), painting, or holding decorative objects. The paintings use a naturalistic palette with occasional bright accents. Each tile contains vertical Chinese calligraphy inscriptions and red seal stamps, likely artist markings or poetic verses related to the imagery. One panel includes a date, "1988.6.7," suggesting a late 20th-century creation, possibly drawing on traditional artistic styles. Approximate dimensions estimate the height of the panels to be 25–40 cm. This screen served as a decorative display item, highlighting traditional Chinese artistry and cultural themes. It is an intact example of craftsmanship, reflecting both aesthetic and collectible value.
**Hand-Painted Persian Hunting Scene Tile with Marquetry Frame** A Persian ceramic tile, approximately 6 x 6 inches, depicting a hand-painted hunting scene with four horsemen dressed in traditional attire pursuing wild goats. The detailed composition includes finely painted figures and a natural landscape featuring trees and foliage. The artwork reflects traditional Persian artistic techniques and is reminiscent of the Qajar-era style. The piece is housed in an ornate marquetry frame, adorned with intricate geometric and floral patterns crafted in earthy tones and inlaid materials, possibly wood, bone, or mother-of-pearl, characteristic of traditional **Khatamkari** craftsmanship. The frame shows minor wear, including a crack at a corner joint, aligning with its aged provenance. The reverse features a wooden backing, secured with metal fastenings, and includes a central wooden stand for display. Visible scuff marks and patina further support its vintage appeal. A notable example of Persian artistic heritage and craftsmanship.
