GROUP OF SPANISH GLAZED ARISTA CEILING TILES (DE DOS POR TABLA) SEVILLE, 1525-1575 glazed in yellow/honey-brown, dark manganese-brown, blue and green, variously lustred, depicting a repeating pattern over two tiles, with flower heads to each corner flanking a quatrefoil border enclosing a central stylised flower head and leaves, comprising twenty-three tiles (two broken and some with chips to corners), and eleven partial tiles (34) each tile 25 x 12.5cm approx. GROUP OF SPANISH GLAZED ARISTA CEILING TILES (DE DOS POR TABLA) SEVILLE, 1525-1575 comprising tiles with two repeating patterns, glazed in yellow/honey-brown, blue and green, variously lustred, the first pattern depicting a lattice pattern with stylised leafy flower heads, eight tiles and two partial tiles; the second pattern over two tiles, with quatrefoil design enclosing flower heads and leaves within chevron borders, twelve tiles (one broken) and two partial tiles (24) each tile 25 x 12.5cm approx. Provenance: From a private Scottish collection Note: The first group of tiles in this lot, depicting the lattice pattern, is very similar in design to tiles featured in Alfonso Pleguezuelo's catalogue of the Carranza Collection in Seville (Alfonso Pleguezuelo, Lozas y Azulejos de Triana - Colección Carranza, Seville 2011, cat. 50, p. 67).

A SET OF THREE MINTON 'WAVERLEY' TILES, designed by John Moyr Smith, comprising 'Guy Mannering', 'Heart of Midlothian' and 'Ivanhoe', printed signature, mounted in oak frames and backs enclosed visible tiles measures approximately 19cm square and 19.5cm square (s.d) (3)condition: No visible chips but the tiles are securely framed so outer edges are not visible, no signs of restoration but there are some deep scratches to the tiles and on Ivanhoe tile there is a glaze fault just above tip of shield.
