A good Iznik Tile, 1574-75, painted in blue, turquoise, green and aubergine with a typical scrolling pattern including saz leaves and stylised fritillaries, 26cm square, framed Similar tiles were used for the tomb of Selene II at Ayas Ofret, completed 1575, an example of which was sold at Sotheby's, 13 April 1988, lot 341. A comparable design appears in 'Iznik', Nurhan Atasoy, Julian Raby, 1989, no. 413. CONDITION REPORT: No obvious faults.
