Minton And Hollins Victorian Tiles Set of four scarce Transferware framed tiles. Each with black geometric border print on cream glazed ground, the first depicting three children fishing. The second, a group of children and dog at play. The third, a mother and child gathering hay. The fourth, two infants and a duck. Approx dimensions of each tile 6 x 6 inches. La tegola concava è posata su una base in legno. 44 x 36 x 16 cm - Moulded earthenware finished by hand, with turquoise, green, amber and aubergine liuli sancai glazing. A Delft four tile panel early 17th century, possibly English, each tile painted in polychrome enamels with a single animal in a circular panel, including a stag, a rabbit, a dog and a monkey, reserved on a blue ground with white flowerhead corners, contained in a later wooden frame, some chipping, 35cm overall.
Three Liverpool delftware tiles c.1760-70, printed in black by John Sadler, one with a shepherd surprising a sleeping shepherdess, one with a gentleman helping a lady to fasten her ice-skate, with a partial signature, the last of a peasant offering a birdcage to a lady and child seated beneath a tree, the last broken and restuck, 13cm. (3) The tile with the ice-skater derives from Lancret's Winter. Cf. Anthony Ray, English Delftware Tiles, nos. 625, 635 and 732.

Two similar Pilkington's Royal Lancastrian sample tiles, decorated in the style of William de Morgan, one painted with a heart, the second with a stylised flower, impressed mark to one, 7.5 x 7.5cm, (2). CONDITION REPORT: Crazing to glaze to both. Heart decorated tile: losses in area of heart. Flower tile: minor losses to red berry areas.

Large English dolls house, circa 1930, the wooden framed house with grey stone effect exterior, wooden panelled front door with brass door knob and letter box, four working glazed sash windows, red tile pitch roof with two chimneys, opens at back in three sections, and also to side, having four rooms with hallway and landing, mostly original wall and floor coverings, (small piece missing from roof), 39” (99cm) tall, 37” (94cm) wide, 21” (53cm) deep.
A CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE DOUBLE-SIDED TILE KANGXI 1662-1722 Painted to one side with a scene from the Romance of the Western Chamber, depicting Cui Yingying and Hong Niang listening to Zhang Gong playing a qin, the reverse with figures in the Kunlun mountains, mounted in a later hardwood frame as a table screen, 26cm x 18cm. Provenance: from the collection of Lady Ottoline and Philip Morrell, and thence by descent.
