A PAIR OF EARTHENWARE RECTANGULAR TILE PANELS (2)Possibly Mintons, circa 1880 Each comprising sixteen tiles, painted with continuous scenes of medieval figures at leisure, 29cm by 120cm, framedOne panel with restoration to the four tiles on the right, including the man carving the ham, the woman rolling and man carrying an animal over his shoulder. The same panel with a diagonal break through the panel third from the right with the two geese. The other panel with a vertical break through the left arm of the figure seated on a barrel. Overall minor wear and some small chips around the edges.

The lot comprising a Johnson Bros. c1880s blue and white tile with central flower pattern marked to verso (Jackson) Bros., Stoke-on-Trent, a Dutch style blue & white tile with canal and boat scene, a continental tile with ships at sea, stamped to verso, an English tile marked 'Thynne England' featuring a cartoon of a milkmaid captioned 'Milk Below', and a Dutch delft tile with simple windmill and boat pattern. Largest to measure approx. 15cm x 15cm.
