An in-part George II and later mounted toasting fork. The turned ebonised wood handle with a plated three-tine fork and ring terminals, the tapering collar engraved with a crest and with a silver maker's mark 'RB' probably for either Richard Bayley or more likely Richard Bell circa 1735-45, 56cm long overall (22 inches) Condition Report: Overal good/fair condition, The wood handle terminal with a chip to the 'knob' with approx 1/3rd missing. The plated loop and the tines in worn condition, one tine bent. The collar (which is the part of the ensemble which is George II) in rubbed condition and with the maker's mark only
A Set of Six Plated Bladed and Mother-Of- Pearl Handled Fruit Knives and Forks with Silver and Mixed Silver Ware, the fruit knives and forks with silver ferrules by Allen & Darwin, Sheffield 1892, with engraved blades, in mahogany case with brass plaque to lid, 9.125ins x 6.625ins x 2.5ins high, a selection of silver Christening knives, forks, and spoons in six fitted cases, combined weighable silver 11.2ozs, and a set of six silver handled butter knives in fitted case Six Plated Bladed and Mother-Of- Pearl Handled Fruit Knives and Forks - the blades are plate and the ferrules are silver and bear the hallmarks for Sheffield 1892. One handle of one knife has some discoloured blemishes to one side. Generally the set is in good condition as is the interior of the box. Light scratches to the exterior of the box.Remaining items include:Harlequin set - spoon, fork Sheffield 1930 - engraved "AMM", - both show signs of use, rubbed and dents to bowl - napkin ring Birmingham 1932 - engraved "AMM" - good heavy gauge in good condition. Set with reeded and ribbon handles - spoon, fork and knife Sheffield 1912/13 - engraved "GM" . Lacking napkin ring - in fitted case retailed by Brook & Son, Goldsmiths to the King, 87 George Street, Edinburgh - generally scuffed and dirty but intact. Set with engraved handles and named "Margaret" - spoon and fork London 1867 - in need of a good clean - sticky substance to prongs. Knife Sheffield 1867 - gap between handle and blade - marks to handle rubbed - general signs of use. In fitted case - not original and doesn't close with spoon inside.Victorian Kings pattern set - London and Sheffield marks - signs of use. In fitted case - exterior torn.Childs pusher - no spoon - Sheffield 1930 - engraved with entwinned monogram - in case retailed by Wallace Allan, 4 Newmarket Street, Ayr - light scuffs.Spoon and fork with bead mounts - Sheffield 1895 - signs of use, minor dents.
