Registration No: B244 MAO Frame No: JYA47M003FA010931* Engine No: 36Y-000296 CC: 1100 MOT: July 2024Bespoke café racer based on a Yamaha FJ1100 Built using many new items, and custom paintworkSupplied with receipts, an MOT and a current V5CThe Yamaha Motor Co was formed in 1955 as the powered vehicle division of the massive Yamaha Corporation more famous for making musical instruments. The first bike produced in 1954 was the YA-1, like the BSA Bantam a copy of the German-made DKW RT125 but in typical Japanese fashion this was soon improved upon with the launch of the YA-2 in 1957. This proved to be an immediate success in sporting events, starting a long tradition of achievement that continues today in Moto GP and WSBk racing. The FJ1100 was launched in 1985 as Yamaha's entry into the musclebike sports tourer market and became famed for its durability and solid design. This 1985 model was imported from the USA in 1995 and used in standard trim until bought by the vendor in 2018. He then started a long term project to build a one off cafe racer using many new parts to create an unusual and distinctive special. The frame, swinging arm and wheels have been powder coated with the bodywork refinished in classic Yamaha's Red and White race colours together with a new speedo, tacho and switchgear. The chassis has been treated to a new pair of Avon Roadrider tyres, a front fork rebuild using Progressive springs, a new YSS rear shock, new brake disc, a full rebuild of the calipers and new chain and sprockets. The engine has been serviced and finished off with a bespoke 4 into 2 exhaust system. A labour of love, the vendor has spent a fortune and many hours to build this bike, dry stored over the winter it will need recommissioning before use. It comes supplied with some spare parts, receipts collected during the rebuild, an MOT until 6th July 2024 and a current V5C.*Please Note: The quoted frame number is the one which appears on the Yamaha’s V5C. It is no longer visible on the bike itself, likely due to paint coverage. For more information, please contact: Ian Cunningham ian.cunningham@handh.co.uk 07415871189

Registration No: 515 XVU Frame No: 309683 Engine No: 651402 CC: 125 MOT: ExemptExtremely original and standardIn fully working order ATCValuable accessoriesV5C for use on UK roadsThe Lambretta Li Series 1 was properly launched in April 1958. Some 7 months after the TV175 series 1 was launched. By then Innocenti had eliminated most of the engine problems that the 175 had. The Li 125 was a dramatic departure from the shaft driven LD range that had preceded it. The new enclosed chain driven engine was centrally positioned under the frame and had more power than the LD. With larger 10 inch wheels and beautifully designed panel work it was a superb scooter to ride and was instant hit. The Lambretta Li125 series 2 was launched in October 1959. Based on the successful series 1 with the obvious difference was the position of the headlight on the handlebars for better lighting when cornering. It had an engine based on the Li125 series 1 but with an increased stroke and several other small modifications all over the scooter that made it the best-selling Lambretta of all time. This very original machine was sourced according to our vendor via Rimini Lambretta Centre and was subject to a service there before being imported around 2020 into the UK. Originally licensed in Ancona, Italy the scooter is supplied with its original ‘Targa’ Italian number plate in addition to the UK license plate. During the service the scooter had a new rear shock fitted and new tyres. We are informed that even the piston is the original although it has had new rings fitted which are still not yet run in. The electrics are still on 6v points and all over the scooter one can see originality including the lights, carburettor and engine. The original paint shows no obvious signs of any touch ups and has a pleasant all over patina with a good condition front mudguard. The scooter has some valuable accessories including a Cavalli Falbo ‘pig nose’ horn cast embellisher, Cavalli fork covers and a top of the range Rimini leopard Pegasus seat. Other accessories are original hand and lever grips. The scooter comes with the steering lock key and is fitted with an aftermarket Li125 speedometer. We are informed by the vendor that the sooner rides really well and we were able to see the scooter running very well with no issues at the time of consignment. The original light switch has been damaged in storage and supplied is a genuine NOS replacement switch will be supplied with the lot. This scooter is ready to ride and enjoy on the road. Registration No: Unregistered Frame No: 8/72 1204R (Not visible) Engine No: 66R (Not visible) CC: 496 MOT: N/ABuilt-in 1989 by the late ownerAmazing handwritten documentation over the yearsRaced with successComplete with a host of sparesThe bike was built/assembled in the autumn/winter of 1989/1990. The build comprised a brand new G50 motor from Rutter Engineering, a second-hand Metisse rolling chassis with disc brakes front and rear, and genuine Metisse forks. The rolling chassis was disassembled and delivered to Pat French at MRD Metisse in Bristol and was modified to accept the G50 motor. An AMC gearbox was obtained and fitted with 5-speed Quaife internals along with a racing end cover. A Bob Newby clutch and primary drive were also purchased. The machine was then used from 1990 to 1992 unaltered at the Manx Grand Prix and in the UK.Rebuilt and upgraded for competition use between 1993 and 2011, the machine was used on the TT course, the MGP, before being last used at a Mallory Park test day in 2011.We are grateful to the vendor for the following:“The machine was rebuilt for the 1993 season by my father (who kept detailed records of his builds) and I recorded my first ever 90 mph lap of the TT course on a classic single in that year. In 1994 after a practice week engine rebuild (broken crankpin) I managed to complete the race at an average speed of 90.15 mph (not too shabby for a 6’6” bloke with no skill and weighing 16.5 stones). In 1999 after two more crankpin failures my father ordered and fitted a one-piece crankshaft manufactured as a one-off from Dave Nourish of NRE Engineering, Dave was a friend of my father. In 2001 a Mick Taberer drive side main bearing conversion kit was fitted which according to my father’s records included INA needle roller bearings. The engine’s last complete rebuild was in 2007 when a new liner along with piston and rings, main bearings, and big end shells were fitted the bike was then used at the 2008 MGP.Following the race in November 2008 the top end of the bike was stripped and rebuilt by my father, the bike was last used in July 2011 at a Mallory Park test day.”We are advised the lot will include numerous spares, spare PAL mag, pistons, bearings, sprockets, brake discs, fork tubes, transponder, flywheels, suits rev counter, etc. For more information, please contact: Mike Davis mike.davis@handh.co.uk 07718 584217

Registration No: YTR 243 Frame No: LCU72 Engine No: LCU81 CC: 175 MOT: ExemptTypically stylish Italian OHC 175cc sports single Moto Giro eligible in Rievocazione Storica classSupplied with restoration photos, receipts and a V5CMoto Guzzi was established in 1921 by three friends from the Italian Air Corps and is Europes oldest motorcycle manufacturer in continuous production, based in the same factory in Mandello del Lario overlooking Lake Como ever since. Always innovative they were very successful in Grand Prix racing with products as diverse as the 350cc horizontal single that won five world championships in a row to the incredible 500c V8. The Lodola, featuring a lightweight 175cc OHC single cylinder engine was company founder and original designer Carlo Guzzi's last design before his death in the early 1960s.This well presented Lodola has been part of a Moto Guzzi enthusiast private collection for the last few years. Dated as a 1957/58 model it is Moto Giro d’Italia eligible in the Rievocazione Storica or Historic re-enactment class. Purchased by a previous owner in 2006, he then gave it a full engine/gearbox and mechanical overhaul including a rebore, new piston, new bearings and seals throughout in preparation for the 2008 Giro d’Italia. The bike has since completed 3 more Moto Giro events and the Colombres Rally. It has only had light use under current ownership since 2021, taking part in VMCC and Guzzi Club events, the vendor reports it would benefit from a front fork overhaul with a new bronze bushes kit provided. Included is a restoration record with photos, some receipts and spares, old MOTs, owners, workshop and parts manuals, useful operation notes from the current owner and Lodola enthusiast.and a V5C. Registration No: 334 XWB Frame No: 175TVS 3676 Engine No: 175TV 3785 CC: 175 MOT: ExemptThis scooter features in a full article in this months (March 2024) Scootering MagazineFully running ATC and appears well maintainedRemarkable original conditionCorrect engine and frame numbersIgnition, steering lock and toolbox keys presentOriginal ignition and carburettorV5C for use on UK roadsThe Lambretta TV175 Series 1 was launched in September 1957 and was a very different kind of scooter than all that had gone before it. It was the first scooter of the Li range and appeared some 7 months before the Li. The new 4-speed TV machine was able to reach an unprecedented 103kmh (64mph) which was a significant improvement on the 3-speed LD models which it replaced. However, the new engine was not without its problems and various changes to the design were made during its short production run to improve things. It had a large carburettor with a diaphragm and a complicated kick start arrangement. Early examples had cable adjusters on the handlebar levers. The rear suspension had a combined spring and hydraulic shock which allowed the engine to swivel silent mounts. The wheel rims had chrome edging. The rear light had a triple bulb arrangement with an orange lens either side of a red centre. The new enclosed chain driven engine had an increased capacity and the crankshaft, barrel, piston and gearbox ratio were changed. The front forks were fitted with external shock absorbers. The rear plate and fork links were redesigned to cope with the extra power. The TV175 models were fitted with a Veglia 120 km/h speedometer face and a dual seat. The ‘Lambretta’ and ‘TV175’ side panel badges were attached to the panels with small nuts as opposed to the riveted badges on the Series 1 Li panels. Often referred to as the ‘tourer’ it had a superb performance when running correctly coupled with beautiful styling and has been hugely sought after for many years by collectors. This early version example with cable lever adjusters was imported recently into the UK and is registered to enjoy immediately. She was reportedly in use on the road in Sweden up until the present and our vendor did join a local rally on it at the time of purchase riding some 50km without issue. The scooter certainly appears to be mechanically well maintained but with striking patina. The rear shock has been replaced with a correct type and the floor mats are new but we could find little else that was not original to the scooter. Used floor mats are sometimes available and would complete the entire original look. The seat is the original Aquila Continentale with a cover replaced long ago. Please see below videoOf note the original correct speedometer with chrome bezel is showing 11,694km. The scooter being largely untouched and unmodified is showing superb originality all over the machine including: Sound deadening rough in all the correct paces, lights front and rear, carburettor and fuel tap, ignition, engine and the electrics are still on 6v points. A TV series 1 in this unmodified condition, fully running with full keys and V5C is a rare and desirable machine. Registration No: 1994 MT Frame No: 374769 Engine No: 374769 CC: 250 MOT: ExemptOriginal R27 Instruction Manual and a BMW factory-produced Repair ManualOffered from a deceased estateCurrent family ownership since 1986Buff logbook, spare parts books and a collection of old tax discs dating back to 1971Based largely on the R26, in 1960 the R27’s engine pumped out 18hp, the highest ever for a shaft-drive BMW single. BMW manufactured 15,364 R27 models over the production years of 1960 to 1966. BMW did things differently from other manufacturers. This is evident in the R27. Its enclosed shaft final drive is rare for a single-cylinder motorcycle. But it also had a triangulated Earles front fork (named after English designer Ernest Earles).Declared first registered in 1961 and originating in the Palmers Green area of London with the first owner, Mitchell Erskine Ltd, the R27 stayed in London before making it to Kent in 1963, followed by ownership in Berkshire, Wiltshire, Northumberland and later Derbyshire since the mid 1980s. It is lovely to see this R27 is offered with an original R27 Instruction Manual and a BMW factory-produced Repair Manual. Also accompanying the Munich machine are a couple of spare parts books, a collection of old tax discs dating back to 1971, old MOT certificates, a buff logbook plus two old blue V5s. Understood to have not been run in the last 18 months '1994 MT' has been in current family ownership since 1986 and is offered with a current V5C Registration Document. Lot 299

Registration No: JNN 422N Frame No: F180441 Engine No: 330331 CC: 850CC MOT: ExemptLate Mk3 with uprated starter motor and Boyer ignitionMikuni carb, Norvil twin disc, stainless rims and spokesRestored to use and supplied with a current V5CNorton was founded by James Lansdowne Norton in Birmingham in 1898 and began building motorcycles with French and Swiss engines in 1902. In 1907 a Norton with a Peugeot engine won the first Isle of Man TT race starting a long tradition of sporting excellence and the Commando launched in 1967 carried on this theme culminating in Peter Williams’ victory in the 1973 Formula 750 TT. The bike was first seen in 1967 at the Earls Court Show and the first production bikes were available in March 1968 initially with 750cc displacement, in 1973 it became an 850cc. During its ten years of production the Commando was popular all over the world, in the United Kingdom winning the Motor Cycle News "Machine of the Year" award for five successive years from 1968-1972. Around 60,000 Commandos were made in total with the Mark 3 being the last model offered before the company's demise in 1975.This very well presented Mk3 Commando has been restored and modified by a previous owner to make it more reliable and better to ride. The always suspect starter motor has been upgraded, a Mikuni carb fitted, Boyer Brandson electronic ignition, Landsdown adjustable fork cartridges, Koni rear dampers and a Norvil twin disc front end. The cosmetic restoration was completed with stainless steel rims and spokes shod with some modern tyres. It would be hard to find a better example of what is quite a rare version of one of the last great British bikes of the era. Not run for a while it will need some recommissioning, but the engine turns over on the kickstarter and it comes with a current V5C.
