[BRAUN EVA]: (1912-1945) German Companion of Adolf Hitler and, for a short time, his wife. An original silverware fork originally belonging to Eva Braun, 7.5 inches in length and featuring her engraved EB monogram at the base of the handle, and with the maker’s mark and 800 mark (80% silver) to the reverse. VG Various authorities on Third Reich memorabilia suggest that Braun’s monogram was designed by Nazi architect Albert Speer and represents a butterfly, whilst others have stated that it was instead designed by Nazi physician Dr. Karl Brandt, a member of Hitler’s inner circle at the Berghof, and represents a four leaf clover (‘Kleeblatt’).

CONDITION REPORT: Tarnishing to the handles, tiny chip to one prong on the smaller fork, otherwise general wear commensurate with age. The hallmarks are 925, London date letter code for 1931, also a maker stamp "GJ", and to the reverse "GJ, 925.S".
